I would buy as many acres of land as I could and open up a huge no kill shelter for dogs cats even horses

Make amazing dog runs air conditioned kennels and amazing cat houses with separate houses for the flv kitties and barns for the horses and any feral kitties

Then build tiny house nation houses for the homeless people who have animals with them to help me take care of these beautiful animals

I would help the truly innocent...and leave a legacy of love

Sister ... you may not realize it now, but you ARE leaving a legacy of love / encouragement of sorts with your forum comments and your friends. You have a genuine heart of gold that you share. Than you!!

Most definitely take a year long cruise around the world. I've seen some adds for cruises like that, and they seem amazing.

Build a luxurious nudist/ swingers resort including fabulous playrooms, pools, spas, nightclub etc with plenty of staff so all we had to do was wander around and enjoy.

I would have to do something. You'd get pretty bored otherwise. Reality is, I'll never have enough money to quit working, and as our government keeps raising the retirement age, I'll be working in my coffin to pay the rent on my spot in the cemetery. Happy days!!!!!

I'll not work for money.... there're things like career and reputation which interest me more..... Enough money will be an automatic byproduct in in that line of approach..... Having said that, I like those above who'd still like to continue with their jobs or involve in more interesting and useful activities smile

Well I worked really hard, saved and invested well, never had a salary over 100k/year and retired on Feb 1, 2007 at the age of almost 48. Like many I had great plans to save and feed the world, and be as philanthropic as I could. I have no living relatives, wife, kids or even a distant cousin just a few good friends (actually I'd kept my wealth a bit of a secret and was amazed at how many folks I'd once known casually suddenly came crawling back into my life.) lol Truth be told I went on a pretty heavy duty mid-life crisis for a couple of years. You know the typical stuff, private jet, sailing yacht, Vegas at least twice a month and fun as it may sound I found it very unfulfilling and it was turning me into someone I didn't even recognize. After a couple of years I sold most of the toys, stopped hitting Vegas, started volunteering at a homeless shelter and being very charitable. I feel so much better about myself now just still really regret loosing touch with reality for those first few years. The point I'm making is if you're lucky enough to get to the point I did don't make the mistake's I made. I was lucky enough to have a couple of very fine friends without whom I'd have finished a very productive life in a very way.

I'd probably buy the store I work for, so my boss could retire and then I'd run things behind the scenes and employ more people, so I didn't have to worry about going in every day. Just when I needed to be there.

If I got a million dollars, I would quit my job, buy a printing press and make my second million.
