Letter From Home... John Michael Montgomery
It is about a soldier at war and the letters that his family and his fiancee send to him.... I tear up everytime... I love all my troops but I know so many and have written so many letters myself...
"Letters From Home"
My Dearest Son, it's almost June
I hope this letter Catches up with you and finds u well
It's been dry but they're callin' for rain
And Everything's the same ol' in Johnsonville
Your Stubborn ol' daddy ain't said to much
But I'm sure you know he sends his love
And she goes on, In a letter from Home
[Chorus]
I hold it up and show my buddies
Like we ain't scared in our boots
And our boots ain't muddy
And they all laugh like there's Something funny
'bout the way I talk, When mama sends her best ya'll
I fold it up and put it in my shirt
Pick up my gun and get back to work
And it keeps me Drivin' on, Waitin' on
Letters from home
My dearest love, it's almost dawn
I've been layin' here all night Long,
Wonderin' where u might be
I saw your mama and I showed her the ring
Man on the Television said
Something So I couldn't sleep
But I'll be alright, I'm just Missin' you
And this is me Kissin' you
X's and O's In a Letter from Home
[Chorus]
I hold it up and show my buddies
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy
And they all Laugh 'Cause she calls me honey
But they take it hard, 'Cause I don't read the good parts
I fold it up and put it in my shirt
Pick up my gun and get back to work
And it keeps me Drivin' On, waitn' on
Letters from home
Dear Son, I know I ain't written
And sittin' here tonight alone in the kitchen
It occurs to me I might not have said it, So I'll say it now
Son, You make me Proud
[Chorus]
I hold it up and show my buddies
Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy
But no one Laughs ' Cause ain't nothin'
Funny when a Soldier Cries, and I just wipe my eyes
I fold it up and put in my shirt get back to work
And it keeps me Drivin' on, waitin' on,
Letters from home
God bless the rough and ready that keep us free!!
So this is the first time I've ever told ANYONE this. I guess it's easier to tell a bunch of anonymous people than people I know. Music is the only thing that has made me feel like crying since I was about 7 or 8. One that gets me every time, (unless someone is there with me, then I stop myself) is "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.
Black Betty gets me every time. Buried one of my best friends to it.
"How I Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. It came on the radio while I was driving home one night from college after learning that a close friend had been killed in a car accident. I had to pull over in a gas station and just cry for a while. Awful time.
I guess it would have to be "How can you mend a broken heart" by the Bee Gees. I had an uncle that was killed when I was 11 and when I got home this song was playing on the radio. Every time I hear it now it takes me back to that day. No matter how much I listen to it though, I always feel like crying.
Concrete Angel by Martina McBride its about .... well basically child abuse and its all too often fatal outcome.
Fix You by Coldplay, it always gets to me when I listen to it
One or two songs do.
The saddest one though is Motorhead - "1916". I sometimes get quite emotional watching WWI or WWII war movies and the lyrics in this bring out the same emotions.
I don't listen to it generally, as that 's not what I like to get out of music.

I'm not ashamed to say I tear up from a few songs that are sad, but also ones that are awesome. A sad one I know off the bat would be Fix You by Coldplay. An awesome one would be the extended version of We Are The Future by Stratovarius.
" these days" by powder finger. ?
"Brothers in arms" by dire straights. ?
I love music because it can bring out so many emotions.
One song can make u laugh, cry, cheer and sing in the space of 5 minutes.
Hmm....... Was that the right thing to say?
Mhmmm, I tear up to an awful lot of songs.
The one the gets me every time without fail is "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel.
