I absolutely adore flying. Most of my travels have been pleasant. Have had a couple bad experiences but all in all it's been great. It's all an adventure to me. Been quite interesting flying with a toddler. Planes get me to the places I have always wanted do to go a lot quicker and airports are a great place to people watch.

I spend most days high above the clouds at 30,000 feet working for a UK airline. "The emergency exits are here, here and here" - Oh boy, the look on their faces is priceless!

I can only hope to be on one of your flights someday. I may pay attention to my flight attendant if it were you my friend. One of these days. Sigh.

I always enjoy flying, especially when I am going somewhere to play golf. Next spring I am planning to fly into Albany, NY, rent a car, play some golf, go to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and, most importantly, meet a very good friend and catch up on things. I love to travel.

Hate snoopy air port security, hate uncomfortable seating next to people that don't fit in their own seat. But love being in the air, love bush planes, love turbulence and high winds.

I love flying, that adrenaline rush as you feel the throttle and the speed increasing for take off is awesome, I love the landing, as you hear the tyres hit the Tarmac. For me the bit in the middle is boring bit smile
I had a flight in a glider once and loved that. Just silence and flying like a bird but I must admit to feeling apprehensive about the landing though.

I enjoy every flight. Have to agree that the corporate/private jets provide the nicest service. But there are many good commercial airlines.

Not terrified, don't 'love it'..... the whole traveling thing is exciting yes. But I'm not crazy about being sat in a seat for long hours, cramped, barely 6 inches away from other people lol. I'm not so claustrophobic that it causes problems for me, but I don't like it, that's for sure. Thank godddddd now for in-flight tv/movies.

Eh, not too fussed either way. I get nervous on take-off and landing, but other than that I'm really REALLY bored!

As long as I am inside the airplane, I love it.

It's a means to an end... Flying is ok, but what I don't like is all the airport security nonsense and waiting between flights and especially..... packing!

I love to fly but I don't like taking off for some reason. I went to Europe this past may and only thing I got concerned about was the connecting flight. Was afraid I would miss it.

The thrill of flying is gone for me once I've been in the air over three hours. This summer I flew from the east coast to the west coast and contemplated driving back. It just become too cramped and stuffy for me. Next time I will pay to upgrade to first class if the flight is four hours or more.

i love flying. i still feel like a child when i look out and see the clouds. still loathe going through the hassles in the airport, but it's worth it once in the sky.

Most of the time, I associate flying with something exciting -- a vacation, a trip to visit my beloved, etc. I also take the opportunity to read while I wait at the airport and on the plane. Therefore, I usually enjoy it. However, quite a lot associated with flying is a big hassle, though, and I don't enjoy the cramped seats.

I went through a phase where I was terrified of flying -- when I had not done it for a long stretch of time. I still get nervous where there is turbulence, but mostly I am fine.

In my experience, the people most fearful of flying are those who fly their own private a/c. It's one thing to fly your own plane, having control, etc. But flying commercially scares some, because now it's a feeling of vulnerability. Also, those people who travel A LOT. Some of them get to where they feel it's just a matter of time and eventually lose their nerve to fly.

In my job I've seen this a couple of times, but for the most part the fear of flying is generally universal. Men, women, children anyone in all walks of life can have a terrible fear of flying. It's pretty unnerving to be onboard with someone who is completely wigged out and screaming. Thank God I never had too do this, but if it gets bad enough the F/A's have zip ties and WILL tie your hands and feet if you become a danger to anyone. It's either that or the other passengers will do it. Honestly though, it has to be really bad for this to occur.

Once on a flight from LAS to SLC right after 9/11 a guy on one of our planes (not my flight) freaked out and tried to enter the cockpit. He was so out of control that the other passenger subdued him, and he was pronounced dead on arrival.

I love to fly...I also don't like delays especially when ya find out it wasn't for the reason they said. Example once when I flew from Chicago to Phoenix I was delayed in Phoenix coming back stating storms in Chicago. Called home and wasn't even raining. DUH!!!!!

Oh, jesus...if I had a dime for every time I've heard that one. Sorry, it hits a nerve with me. Most of the times the storms are in the way of the aircraft's path, not necessarily in the city you are delayed flying in to. "I just talked to my mom and she said it's not raining there..." I always wanna say "oh, so you're mom is a meteorologist, then? Or an air traffic controller? If you ask the agent to look up the weather, they can bring it up and show you the weather. Be nice to the agents on the ground, believe me, they WANT to get you out of there...

I don't mind it, but if I can drive there within four hours, it's not worth the airport hassles to fly.

I generally hate airports, but the one in town is small and well laid out and not crowded. Easy to get in of and out of quickly. So living here has made flying a lot less annoying.

Other than that, I like flying, I love lift-off, and I love watching the landscape pass by. It also gives me a huge chunk of time to disappear into a book, which is nice. And I associate it with traveling to somewhere fun, to hang out with people I enjoy.

So I do not exactly love it (particularly airports not in my town), but I enjoy it.

Lots of conflicting emotions... I love flying but all the hassles associated with it are a pain! I used to fly economy because I'm Scotch and a big cheapskate, but I hated cross-country flights cuz economy seats are so cramped, so I started flying first class and felt guilty for spending the extra money, and some of my friends couldn't afford first class so when I fly with friends, I'm back to economy and miserable again. Then there's the TSA. I'm on Pre-check and my friends have to go through hell, and I feel guilty about that when I just breeze through and then have to wait for them. Then there's O'Hare International, where I've had several travel disasters and missed connections... worst airport ever!

Then there's open cockpit, which I love! I flew in a Stearman bi-plane with an aerobatics pilot, and we did loops and rolls, and that was awesome. I also flew in a bush float-plane in upper Canada couriering legal documents to my boss while he was on a fishing trip, and that was both fun and hell because of a horny old pilot who wouldn't stop hitting on me all the way there and back.

Flying is fun. It's a new perspective on the world, but getting through all the hassles associated with it can be frustrating.

My sister has a total crippling phobia of flying...any advice from lush gang about how she can best deal with this?
