That made my mouth water...
I think foods that people consider aphrodisiacs work like a placebo. The only true aphrodisiac I find women respond to is a whole lot of alcohol.dZEf5019hKvTtijr
I tried them once and didn't like the taste. Maybe they were prepared the wrong way? Who knows!
"Haters make me FAMOUS!!!"
Sassy
I love oysters raw on the half-shell (it's the only way I've tried them actually). A bit of fresh-grated horseradish, tangy cocktail sauce an a squeeze of lemon is my favourite way to slurp them down.
In terms of aphrodisiac properties... it's hard to say if they work for me, since I'm easy to arouse anyway. I do remember reading once that they are high in zinc, which is tied to the libido.
To me, I think it's about the sensuality of eating them. The visual look of them, and the taste of raw oysters both seem to suggest sex in my opinion, and if you enjoy them naked with a sexy someone, they are sure to do the trick!
I love oysters in all forms, my favorite being raw ... I eats em raw. But I've never been roused by eating them, and I've eaten plenty. The most I've eaten at one sitting was 5 dozen on the half shell with a lot of beer.
The restaurant down the road makes the best oysters, with a tangy sauce on the side... yum
Love them smoked in oil right out of the can
I would ordinarily eat them raw (dash of lemon juice and tabasco) if it were summer, but it's too cold here right now. Now 12.4°C.
Yes. I can say emphatically, and most affirmatively...Yes. Come on...it's no accident that they resemble something very near and dear to my heart, nose and mouth. A dozen, with lemon and horseradish cocktail, swimming in their half shell (SLURP...SLURP) and I'm ready and randy to get with the real thing. Then again...I seem always to be ready for the real thing. As far as making one last longer...I can last an hour or better anyway. Oh well...give me a nice dinner starting with oysters! Huzzahhhh!
Only a casual oyster slupper until enjoying one of the best meals in my life at Brennans in New Orleans. The server recommended a variety of flavoured oysters and we were not disappointed. Maybe the combination of the oysters, the city, and the company added up to a very hot tustle between the sheets that night.
I've eaten oysters for years, sushi too - and I cant really say they do a whole lot. However, clams may be another thing altogether! I think the very reason I joined lushstories yesterday is due to the sexual explosion I've experienced the last 5 days since sharing ten pounds of clams with a friend.
Since the clams, I've bought new toys (one of which I'm not certain just yet my wife will be willing to participate with), watched so much porn that my wife is wondering what is so intriguing (so now we have made plans to watch some together, for the first time in our 20 years together), came probably 20 times (a months worth), and of course got it on that night and the next morning (the morning after session is unusual, and i think she's still a bit sore). So I wonder... did my friend slip something into that batch of clams? And if so... I want more!!
Recipe:
10 lbs clams in shells
1 bulb of garlic, not just one clove - chopped fairly fine
some onion also chopped - same proportion as the garlic
1/2 stick butter
1 bottle white wine
In a big pot with a cover, melt enough butter to fry the garlic and onion until union starts getting soft - then add the rest of the butter, and when its all melted, add the clams and pour over a cup or so of wine, and cover it, bringing it up to a low simmer - then every time you open the pot, add some more wine, until the clams are all open and ready
Also, be sure to make some garlic bread to dip in the sauce - that might be the best part of the meal - so use plenty of wine - the sauce is the best part
Oysters are a regular here. Get a fire going under a grate, put the oysters up there, scoop out the insides into a cracker with some Tabasco sauce. Chase with a cold beer.
Oysters are one of my favorite foods, all forms, fried, grilled, Rockefeller, bur especially on the half shell raw, I can eat so many. I don't know if they really enhance the mood but if I am with the right person, well so it goes. Other than that I would agree with Dancing Doll on all her comments.
Are they supposed to make you sick?
Its about the only thing I dont eat from the sea. Well, I eat fish, but I dont like tuna or salmon, go figure. Yeah, cant do the oyster bit. Something about the texture. And if you think you need to eat something to get in the mood, well, there might be other issues at hand there.
I TRIED THEM ONCE I BOUGHT A DOZEN AS I WAS SWAPPING WITH MY NEIGHBOUR AND I WANTED TO IMPRESS HER WE SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT TOGETHER .OF THE TWELVE TWO WERE DUDS
