Whilst any version of a Christmas carol is technically a cover, I do like this although there are very many awesome versions of 'Oh Holy Night' it is impossible to choose a favourite.

WooHoo!!!! 27,000 views! Could I dare to hope for a famous story...

Roy Orbison's original is superb ... as is Linda Ronstadt's cover.
Many artists have covered this original by John Henry Kurtz. Dobie Gray did an excellent and smooth rendition, but I just like the Stones style better.

This was recorded in November 1973 for their album "It's Only Rock and Roll" and not included in favor of Ain't Too Proud to Beg and never released.
This song was written by a man to be sung by a man yet Joan Baez does a wonderful rendition of the original by The Band. It's hard to choose whose voice I like better singing this, hers or Levon Helms.
Mick covers Waylon Jennings ... not bad at all, but Waylon does it better.
she is just so simple and beautiful
ok so nobody will ever be as good as Freddy Mercury, but he just nails this so soooo good
ok if you have to listen to one cover, this is the one, she puts mick to shame
better than Dylan

Talia Martinez more than adequately covers this Chris Stapelton song, but he does it with much more soul.
better than the animals
"Redemption song" Bob Marley is awesome, but this is even better

I liked the song "Under My Thumb" but the Rolling Stones until I heard a cover done by the Canadian band Streetheart and I Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so much more better and it's among my long list of favorites lol smile
"Yeah, we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun." John Lennon

Take a look at my new poem for the competition:

if your not moved by her singing, music is not your passion

It's impossible to top Them the original artists, but this comes close. Also love the unique
transition to Eight Miles High at 2:35 and back again at 4:05.

this is one of my all time favorite covers! they truly took this song and made it their own. absolutely adore it❤

A somewhat different version that incorporates Pachelbel's Canon in D (and god knows what else)

Don't believe everything that you read.

I think George Michael sang this better. What an absolute legend.

I 100% Agree. They made the song their own. I love both versions for different reasons.

Brilliant. One of the best covers ever, imo.
the disturbed re doing sound of silence is real good, the across the universe movie was awesome for a musical, i loved it. i do like some cover songs well most. but one of my favorites is , Rage against the machine doing Bruce springsteens Ghost of tom Joad . https://youtu.be/iqnMrynpq9U

Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse - Valerie (although played to death - better than the orginial)
Joe Cocker - With A Little Help From My Friends
Paul Simon's classic taken to the next level:
I like this version better than Dylan's original girl from the north country.
