Quote by Magical_felix Actually, after giving this more thought I think I would rather catch my 18 year old watching fucked up hardcore porn than talking to a middle aged (or older) creep telling her age is just a number or some shit like that on a "it's anything you want it to be" social site. I would be way less concerned if she was just watching porn, that would be normal.
It depends on your criteria. If you think, that a site that contains porn is a pornsite, then lush definitely is one. But then every site where you can publish your work, that has an "Adult" section, is one too.
I think however, that judgement should be based on the goals of a site, rather than on (a portion of) its contents. I think lush is not a porn site. It's a social network that focuses on writing (and reading) erotica, eroticism and sexuality. Porn is part of that, but certainly not the primary purpose of lush.
A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing
In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.
Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i
I think of Lush as a sex lab, not to so much as porn. It is so diverse in it's offerings. Yes it does involve sex and being sexual but different than straight porn.
Yes, I think this is a porn site. You can call it whatever you like, but it really boils down to the same thing: stories and scenes written for the purpose of getting the reader or viewer aroused. If you're lucky, more than aroused.
However there's various qualities of porn. When I'm writing, I'm going for something closer to Caligula than Debbie Does Dallas.
I think it is made up of multiple elements including porn . I do however think it's much more and that individually it is adaptable to your needs , tastes and choices.
As for me, I feel "better connected" with my own thoughts / feelings / emotions since LUSH than perhaps I did before. I feel LUSH has actually helped me in the areas that this article purports to say that "porn" is detrimental too. Maybe the writer was thinking along lines of videos, etc. whereas I'm more of a "word" person.
What say you on this? Is LUSH "porn"? How has LUSH helped / hurt you?
Rick
yes, I would say lush is a porn site, BUT not a bad one.
Lush is a porn site for the mind. I don't need graphic videos or seductive pictures to visualize what the the author is trying to convey. It's for adults who enjoy reading well written erotica. We are blessed to have chat rooms, groups, and the forum to discuss more than just sex, but politics (Think Tank), story ideas, pictures, and so much more.
I have been humbled by submitting my stories, only to be refused due to structure and grammar. I am not discouraged nor angry, rather I am now challenged to bring a better piece to the show! I've never seen so many great writers on any other site. What really excites me are the true stories that our fellow members write. Connecting the profile to the writer intensifies the sensationalism! It's not Porn, it's erotica!
When I think of porn, I see those ugly sites with lots of ads and pop ups and often degrading pics of women. Not that I don't visit, but Lush has a much different feel. Maybe because there is a sense that people are behind the stories or pics in the chat room. The humaness of the site makes it less porn and more erotica. I feel this is the mandate of this site.
I have been on and off lush for several years, and it has been for me whatever I wanted it to be. Be that Erotica(Stories), Dating(Friends), Socializing(Chat room and Forum), Porn, Fun, and what not.. So I would say Yes.
