Apparently it's a serious question and I found out that there is a whole branch of biologists studying to figure this out.
Some biologists believe that mouth and anus are twins, they developed together with a connecting pipe, then the rest of the body developed around it.
Some creatures though, like the sea cucumber, have one hole for both functions. Some other creatures, like turtles, breathe through the anus.
Some creatures use their evacuation holes for feces, urine, eggs, and sperm. But this increases the risk of infections. Maybe that’s why human have two separated holes. Though some biologists believe that the anus has formed as a stolen plan from the reproductive tract.
Some creatures, like humans, have buttocks to cloak the anus, physically and figuratively, to hide the end of our digestive end.
The human buttocks are the most voluminous cushions to feature an otherwise humdrum hole. Sometimes these cushions are cause of embarrassment (aye), while we should remember that for some cultures big buttocks are symbol of fecundity. We sexualize the buttocks, looking at one another’s bums with lust, or disgust, or fascination, but always with sexual interest (aye, again).
It’s time we get comfortable with what’s between two cheeks.
