*nods* me too - they can whisper to their heart's content - the convo goes like this

Dick: whisper - want to see my cock?

me: out loud - do i want to see your cock? good god, man, yes! right now - post it - i NEED to see it. wait... that's it? it's kinda... teeny.

smile

And speaking of chat.....You try to set a story/scene and make site mistakes....Trying to guess the mood..from those emotion thingys and BAM chat person up and gone....No .....day gum thanks for the explaination or trying...Nope just up and gone..That's just fucking rude

Is it? Have you THAT MUCH PRIVACY?? I hate you....Jk And honestly.... <<means I'm HI. Now you know.

As far as the OP.....precious as precious can be!! Honestly. I don't care if you whisper, scream, or just chat telepathically, I'm not real good at paying attention. This pizza is disgusting! Ooops! Forgot panties and it's windy!

Am sure unwanted whispers can be answered with an open response that will set the person straight

I've just seen another profile with "do NOT whisper to me in chat rooms without asking me first".

Seriously? You're in a chat room on an adult site and you don't want people whispering? Gonna get all indignant because someone dared to? You want someone to openly say "can I whisper dirty nothing's in your ear?"

Does anyone else think this is being a bit precious?

It can get problematic.

My assumption is that people have had problems with people whispering to them if it gets to a point where it's something that needs to be advertised in their profile.

And Gav only recently made it possible to block whispers from individuals as opposed to having to block all whispers from non-friends.

And no, it doesn't hurt to ask. People ask all the time. Common courtesy and all that.

It's just a preference, and I try not to get my tits in a twist over other people's preferences.

There's a setting for that? We need to find it.

Well, being that this thread exists, it seems you already have.

My best chats in chat rooms are in whispers.

I much rather whisper with people then talk in the open.

That's just me.

Hugs,

actually, i'm okay with the fuck you guy - my kitty, however, doesn't like being kissed by known lesbians with a unicorn fetish.

i would love to be a unicorn ... then i could stab idiots with my head!

A person should always ask permission before whispering to another person in the chat rooms. That's common politeness. My friends can come into a chat room where I am and start whispering to me, of course, but anyone else should ask first.

it's always appreciated when someone asks permission first, but i don't get bent out of shape when they don't. it's not so much that they whisper, it's what they whisper that causes problems for me. if someone's being inappropriate, i'll just answer them publicly.

Say. Her. Name.

I do that too, but sometimes people think I'm just crazy and talking to myself.

"What do you do for fun has replaced, ASP." Its like talking to Elmer Fudd, when in a chat room. Its hilarious and a pity, at the same time.

I am rather new on Lush and have not used the public chat rooms yet. But what is whispering?

Not had a lot to say yet but I'm always courteous.
I've been 'whispered' and enjoyed any ensuing conversation.
I've also whispered by mistake!
I will never give details of my huge penis without being invited.
My tailor makes my trousers baggy to the knees.

(Edited because of the pesky predictive script on my new Mac).

I prefer if they ask permission first .. if they are new or shy I usually don't say much unless they are rude then I'm not so sweet about it

No. real women don't want a man to ask permission for something so trivial, unless she is a dom or is full of herself.

Although Lush is a adult website, I consider it a high class establishment. “Lushstories.com is a sex stories and erotica focused adult social network.” I have seen a few other adult chat sites and I will never go back or use them.

I treat people here as I would in real life, with courtesy and respect. Call me old fashioned, I guess. Though introducing yourself openly or just talking openly to someone before whispering in a chat room is not listed in the formal Lush chat room etiquette, (I’m sure a lot of people here have not even read those) it is encouraged as proper etiquette.

Why not…. ?
If you don't like being whispered to,
set your whisper mode… your friends can still whisper…..

Other options are :

respond in whisper and ask the person to stop…..

block the person …..

Grow the fuck up…..

Stop using this whisper crap to publicly humiliate others…..

It is nice to be asked to whisper. I tend to ignore whispers from people i don't know.
