First one I remember is "The Music Man". It was then that I discovered I hated musicals. Not all musicals - just almost all. I DO like Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The Little Mermaid.

Haha, I also remember seeing that one in a theater... my sister was the one insisting on watching that one movie, of course.

I just checked, and The Little Mermaid was released in 1989; I was 7-year-old back then. I'm trying hard to remember the very first film I've seen in a theater; I vividly remember watching Superman IV (1987) in a theater (I even remember where I was sitting in the room), but I doubt it was the very first one.

I was so fucking excited.

Oh, I remember that one too Felix, haha.

That was in 1990 though, I was already 8-year-old and have already seen quite a few other movies in theaters before that. Such as...

My family was semi-broke too, dude. My parents didn't even have a car when I was 0-6 year-old, then they got separated when I was 6-year-old and had to pay for two separate houses. A lot of these visits to the theater were afforded by my aunt, who was single with no child and who always pampered me and my sister.

Having said that, I think I've got a winner for my very first movie in a theater ever. I don't exactly remember the first time I saw that movie (which came out in 1984), but it might as well have been in a theater and I was simply too young to remember it. I've watched that movie a few dozens of times with my sister; basically we just kept choosing that movie every goddamn time my parents allowed us to rent a movie:

Oh yeah, well my family was so broke me and my sister had to share just one shoe. We had to fucking hop everywhere.

Me too dude... but my sister was getting so fucking whiny every time that white horse died.

This is actually quite a wonderful scene: the contrast of the white horse and the black swamp is beautiful, plus it's a real 'slow-motion death' where the viewer really goes through a complete range of emotions.

And there was a nice lesson there for the kids watching the movie too: Atreyu had to cope with his loss and pursue his quest alone.

Luckily, he met his awesome puppy-dragon just a few scenes later.

Goddamnit... I was having a good time until you reminded me of that.
Another inspirational scene from my youth...

God, did I aspire to be that guy: "♫ That's the power of love! ♫"

Am I the only one who was traumatized by Bastien's dad cracking a raw egg into the orange juice?

My mom used to do that into her orange/carrot juice then she would go to the park to run around and do flips 'n' shit. It was so gross.

Marilyn Monroe supposedly did the raw egg thing too. I only like raw eggs in cookie dough.
