Yes, our Lady Mysteria, this song is powerfully tragic. So many times we are just crazy about someone and they don't reciprocate. When that happens to me, I often play this beautiful song.

Hey guys, I was just wondering which song you found the saddest? I'd pick The drugs don't work by The Verve, it's such a great song with powerful, sad lyrics.

I agree it's kind of sad, but also kind of optimistic (at least in my mind).

For me:

Expecting to Fly by Buffalo Springfield (early Neil Young) - Reminds me of an uncle who committed suicide after struggling with heroin addiction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8EUL-O3hRA

Funeral by Band of Horses - Reminds me of one of my best friends, who basically made a lot of bad decisions and alienated everyone he knew. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPW8y6woTBI

Fucker by Brian Jonestown Massacre - One of the most bitter and depressing songs I've ever heard - but in a weird way it's so over the top it's kind of comical, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMqKjIP5H7A

Also, for some reason I get really depressed listening to Guns and Roses. Axl's got some serious issues.

Don't believe everything that you read.

Nevermind, this is hands down the saddest piece of music I've ever heard:

The last track on Sigur Ros' ( ) album:

Don't believe everything that you read.
