I recently came across the story category called "Mind Control" and it rebooted my memory of when I hypnotised a woman many years ago. I was 17 - she was 30ish. It didn't involve any sexual element (although, as a healthy 17-year-old pervert, the thought did cross my mind). I did it because I was a nerd - I had looked, in-depth, into things that interested me so I knew a lot about hypnosis & stage magic (another nerdy interest).

I wondered if anyone else had ever hypnotised someone or been hypnotised?

Hypnosis requires trust - you cannot hypnotise someone against their will. In fact, it is really a state of focussed attention & increased suggestibility which requires some trust in the hypnotist.

I've seen the sexual use of the idea in the Mind Control section - do women actually think it's sexy ?

Here's my story of how I hypnotised a woman - even though no one requested it smile

I was staying with my brother in Toronto, who was 8 years older than me. His friends were in their late 20s & 30s. I was 17 & when younger had delved into hypnosis & stage magic - yea, I was a nerd

I'm not sure how it came up - I probably said I could hypnotise people - boasting as a 17-year-old hanging out with an older group.  I had never done it before but I had researched  it and knew the techniques

She must have said prove it or something but some challenge was made - so we went to her house next door. I felt it needed one on one - couldn’t be done in the group with others looking on - anyway, I was not sure it would work, so we went next door.

I was nervous, excited & maybe a bit aroused? Hey I was 17 what do you expect?

Anyway, I put her under (although it's not sleep) & there are some tests to see if it is working and how deep the hypnosis is. Tests like pricking the skin with a needle -  She didn't flinch - to finally pushing the needle fully through the flap of skin between thumb & fingers - no reaction. So I was excited, it was working she was in deep hypnosis

One of the things I had read about was to age regress someone & get them to sign their name at each age

I did this & talked with her to establish what age she was at each stage and what was happening in her life, etc. She got more & more girly & her signature changed. I was obviously excited - I had hypnotised someone & regressed a 30 year old woman back through her childhood years. The thought crossed my mind that this was powerful - but then it got deeper.

At some stage, she changed hands to sign her name - maybe when she was 10 or something - can’t remember

I wasn't expecting that & she told me the nuns forced her to change from left to right-hand writing. I spoke to her about it as the child & she found that whole time was fairly traumatic for her - the nuns were bitches & she had home issues too.

This was no longer a bit of fun - I realised lots of things - that hypnosis was a powerful tool to unlock the mind - that in the wrong hands it could be damaging psychologically - that any thoughts of sex was gone way out the window.

I realised the power I had & how hypnosis could be used to help someone - she really did seem vulnerable. But I also realised the harm that could be done if I didn't know what I was doing

I thought the best thing was not to interfere in any way trying to help her or meddle in an area I wa sunsure of - I just kept it neutral

Anyway, I brought her back & told her she would remember everything - just so she didn’t have a blank memory of the session & wondered what had happened.

I gave her some stupid post-hypnotic suggestion - to jump up & burst into song when I said certain words, only when I said those words (I didn’t want it firing off inappropriately). I didn’t know if this would work or not but I was interested & excited. I also hoped it would prove to the group that she really was hypnotised but in a way, I didn’t care, I knew I had done it & that was good enough for me

Anyway, when we got back to the group, she was fine, normal, & they were asking us a bit about the session but mainly ignoring us - I knew they wanted a 17 year old to be their subordinate, know his place so asking questions would not have fitted that mindset

The conversation went on but when I said the words, she jumped up & burst into song - completely random in the conversation.  About 30 secs later she sat down & resumed normal conversation as if nothing had happened. A bit later I did it again, same thing, jumped up, burst into song & then sat down & resumed the conversation as normal.

Others asked her what was going on & I told them I had given her this post-hypnotic suggestion but didn't tell them the words - I think they just thought it was a ruse we had cooked up between her & me?

I never hypnotised anyone again - my inquisitiveness was satisfied

Interesting that you would just call it quits after that sir. Sounds like you had a natural talent for it.
