When you hear the word "indie" (short for independent) it's always associated with music and films. New, fresh, original stuff, created by young people on a low budged.
I wonder if we will ever see indie petrol companies, or indie banks? I mean, that would be the ultimate proof that times are changing and everybody can have a part of the cake.

Indie banks exist. At least in my neck of the woods. There's one down the street that's the Blah Blah Community bank. These are usually around for 5 to 10 years, then the big guys start buying up the successful ones and the process starts over.
