They say travel broadens the mind, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

With that in mind, and knowing we have an eclectic mix here, I'm conducting a poll.

So, how many countries have you been to?

Only 3 so far, other than my own. Plan to visit many more when I can.

43 and still so many that I want to go.

I think travelling is very important. There are times when I think I would like to stay put for a while, but pretty quickly I get an itch to move on again. I am lucky though, I have a job I can do pretty much anywhere.

Truly agree, however, with cruise lines, and tour packages, I often ask people upon their return what they got out of it. 10 so far, but does living in Miami count as Cuba? Then that would be 11.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

As an ex long-haul 'trolley dolly' I've travelled extensively - my favourite part of the world undeniably being the far east. In terms of number of countries - well last year on holiday, travelling Europe we did 7 - so that coupled with the 'flying' years, quite a lot.

Roots firmly in the UK though - there really is no place like home !! x

I´ve always had this strange fascination with Togo. After doing a report when I was in 4th grade about the government, I have wanted to go there. what was it like?

I've lost track of just how many.

I spent an entire summer backpacking through Europe. I've been to Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Canada, numerous Caribbean countries, and more that I can't think of at the moment.

13 that I can think of offhand... but if I use Sprite's declaration of Hawaii as its own number, then 14. Besides, 14 is luckier than 13, right?

Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, England, France, Germany, Sweden, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Bahamas.

I've been to a few other islands as well.

England,Italy,France,Germany,Japan,China,Okinawa, although part of Japan, is like a country unto itself. Mexico,Canada,Russia,Saudi Arabia, Mariana Islands.

Hopefully, I'm not done yet. I want to see the motherland Ireland, and the Greek Islands and the whole African continent.

The results don't surprise me one bit.

Artistic types are normally people who love to indulge in travel and other mind broadening experiences.

My list so far: Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Fiji, New Caledonia, Thailand, America, Indonesia, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Singapore.

I'm sure I've missed a few off.

There seems to be a poll option missing. I've never been outside my own country, but it isn't because I have no interest in travel.

If I could, I'd visit Australia, New Zealand, Romania, and Egypt, at the very least. The Great Pyramid fascinates me. And the other three countries seem to have the friendliest, most laid-back people in the world. Most of my online friendships over the years have been with people from those places.

The US, Canada, Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, and most of Western Europe.

I have to admit I'm not a well-traveled guy...I haven't left the North American continent, though I have been to the U.S., Canada and Mexico...

Parts of New Jersey where I live are sort of like different countries though...just saying...

7 and counting...Singapore, Morocco, Spain, France, UAE, Switzerland, Italy. Next year, maybe Serbia... I'd love to visit the U.S. In particular the Grand Canyon and perhaps the Midwest...Bahaha.. Edit...I forgot, I used to be a pom, 96 years ago, so it's 8.

Morocco would have to top the list. I belly danced in the Sahara and slept under the stars in a Berber campsite nestled between two massive sand dunes. Met the most amazing people, a totally awesome experience.

Germany
Switzerland
Italy
The Netherlands
Brussels
Vatican City (if want to get technical and count that as seperate country)
Mexico
Jamica (not high on my list of place to return to)
Japan
Canada (but just for a layover --- not a "lay" and "over")

Wish list:
Egypt
China

One continent, two countries. There are so many different echo-spheres and cultural zones in America, one could travel for two weeks yearly through adulthood and never see the same shit twice.

I'm also a cheap/frugal bastard. Americans might complain about the high cost of living, but overseas the U.S. dollar is even weaker. Find out where it buys the least.
