Ok, I will admit that this has been bothering me. There is a person on this site all of whose pics are of a very well known European porn star. Now either she actually is the pornstar (highly unlikely) or she has the benefit of studio lighting in her very own home. This person collects friends like there's no tomorrow and I ask myself why? If you befriend this person you get a password to watch a free film which features her and a friend. And I'm still asking myself why.

Some people just want to believe that the pic in the gallery is that person I guess. Like when we are watching a film, we know the story is fake, but we are willing to believe it for the time we are watching it. Of course, I'm sure that there are plenty that just can't tell the difference.

Since nobody really knows anyone here, some people take the chance to pretend to be someone else. The re-invention of identity online has been around for a long time already, and I don't mean to say that the people that use fake pics or pics that are not them are necessarily not happy with themselves, but it could be an escape from their daily life identity. Like actors and actresses, some people find it easier to open up in a different body even if it is just a pic of someone else.

You need a pic where you look super badass and dramatic, and then apply those layers of mysterious shadows and edgy grime.

You look pretty badass in your current avatar, but your little dog looks way too happy. You might want to swap that red sweater for leather and photoshop some cool shades onto her. Maybe a dangerous little snarl too.

This is a really interesting topic...and well done to Dancing Doll for showing her lovely face smile
I for one could never reveal me in a photograph on here as I do have a career to protect....and as someone did say, it does not help having your whole village realise what you do in your personal life.

The only thing that has ever annoyed me is when someone has posted photos of a person, not a model, but obviously taken the photos from Facebook or some other media and then claimed the image is of themselves.

I often think this when I see young girls who freely show off their bodies as well as their faces, if they are being niave or just plain frauds.
Often these same people will state in a PM that they are the person in the photo, when they are not.
This is my only gripe really.

If you post a photo, if asked be honest enough to say whether it is you or not.
Also, it really is not morally right (not that I am one for taking a moral high ground too often) to post photos of innocent people, showing their faces and bodies when they are not aware that this is happening.

I can say and always do say that my Av is not me...it is an erotic photo ..and I would never claim it is me.

Whenever I get to know and trust someone it is a different matter - and they then will know me.

But thanks for starting this discussion...

I would have to say that generally there are many bi-sexual girls on here who post very erotic photographs including their faces and stating they only wish to talk to girls. It often crosses my mind how many of these are really men trying to hoodwink innocent girls.
Does anyone else get that uncomfortable feeling when they see such profiles?
I have no problem at all with a girl saying she wants to speak to girls only.....but then I do check out how genuine I believe the profile to be.

I understand why people would want to remain anonymous on a sex site. I pretty much assume that 98% of the avatars here are not really the person. As for the photos in the image gallery, I prefer those to be real or a statement such as "I really like this pic." I don't like when people steal other people's pictures and pass them off as their own.

Looking back, when I started writing I was rather anonymous...believe it or not...I had no pictures of myself, and I used the name Alan Walters in my first twenty stories or so...(Walter is my middle name)...starting with my story "Dream Job"...

Then a funny thing happened...I made the Hottest Author list on the site I started on, and maybe I just never achieved much in life, but I was so proud I wanted everyone to know. I told my father, I started using my real name, and I started posting pictures of myself...

Just my memories of how it worked for me, looking back...
