Always! I wear one at least 11 hours a night at work and never leave my house without one. If you skip wearing one because your state doesn’t mandate it then it’s your funeral, literally! I’m a nurse and see our ED overcrowded every night! It could be you next...

so, you don't follow any laws? speed limit? seatbelt law? child seat laws? don't pay taxes? and seriously, you just don't give a fuck if you infect someone else? awesome. glad you don't live in my hood. purely selfish. it's not really a big deal, you know. whatever.

Thank you so much for what you said. She’s the kind of person who shows up in the ED of my hospital so sick she can’t talk. It’s my job to take care of people like her and it really irks me! How selfish can a person be! She could be asymptomatic and having a field day passing it along! You are awesome Rachel!!

I live in the land of the free where we don't have to submit to tyrannical nonsense. I'll wear a mask when you strap it to my cold, dead face.

I live in the land of the free but I'm also cognizant of the effect i have on others. I don't spit in other's faces. I don't shit in their lawns. I don't act like an ass because I can.

I respect and actually care for others.

So I wear a mask.

As for other's cold dead faces, well just be proud that you passed this illness and death on to others you know and don't know. Have fun taking a dump on people's lawns.

I’ll keep a lookout for you in the next few weeks. Maybe you’ll accept the oxygen mask I hand to you. Going to refuse that? Idiot

As soon as I close my door, I put the mask on. It's not a matter of freedom or if I like it or not, it's a matter of respect for other people. I wouldn't mind getting the virus as much as I would suffer knowing that I had given it to someone else. So even if there's only a remote chance that the masks are truly useful, I would wear them, no questions asked.

To a point. I put the mask on around my neck, it's one of those tube types because I hate anything on my ears. But I only pull it over my mouth and nose if I am going into a place, like a store/bank or interacting with someone directly. When I am out walking, running, or biking, I don't have it pulled up. When exercising, I can't wear it . . . which is why I have been foolishly paying for a gym membership but I have not been there in 4 months.

JUST A THOUGHT!

Rose,

Thank you so much for your honest, frank approach and your vigilance on this thread.

I myself have not been in a truly public place in four months! Yet when I walk the beach here to see the sunrise before others get up (in about an hour---it is 4 AM now), I wear a mask. I even have found a kind of straw that does not require me to remove my mask when I sip my morning coffee.

In MA, we have been very strict about the masks, washing our hands, etc. If you want to visit our state, you must quarantine for two weeks before you can move about in public. We had a break in that rule for 3 days during the 4th of July weekend. But that only applied to visitor from 6 states in our vicinity
where their numbers, like ours, are way down.

We may be going through a lot to beat this, but it is working! I am proud of our state.

It should be mandatory to wear a mask everywhere and if a customer doesn't want to wear a mask then they shouldn't whine about it. Sure, right now it's not the time to be out w/ all the looting that's taking place but that's for another thread.

Things are changing around Ontario. Many city councils and health officers have made masks mandatory in their areas when you are in indoor public spaces (stores, etc.).

In Ottawa, where my son lives, that has happened, and he figures the number of people not wearing masks where he shops is down to maybe 1 in 20 or less. Toronto, Guelph, and some of other areas have done similar.

Then there's the Medical Office of Health for my health unit, who decided it's enough require them on transit or when you're "up close and personal" as in a manicure or haircut. For routine shopping, though, apparently social distancing is enough. There's buzz council is unimpressed and may impose masks through a by-law instead.

I was wearing one on and off at work (don't need to wear one at my desk since I have a private office) when I went in today, but I am still officially working from home. This was a one-off trip to meet a new employee.

Perhaps you ought to understand what asymptomatic actually means , it means a healthy person. Immune systems are developed by exposure to Anitigens : Viruses and Bacteria. Also there is no hard evidence that asymptomatic people spread diseases anything like the propaganda seems to suggest. I doubt I'll be turning up in any ED's, A+E's ect ect..
In the world's harsh wear and tear many a very sincere attachment is slowly obliterated.

Asymptomatic means healthy?? Mmm I'm no expert, but that does not seem correct. It literally means the person is not showing any symptoms.
Btw, there are asymptomatic diseases (CMV, for example), so you may want to recheck that notion...

Sorry sweetie! You’re wrong again. I’m going for my PhD in nursing so don’t only check one source for info! Check a little further and you might get a big surprise. When you test a base group you often find that the asymptomatic person in the group is the spreader! Chest X-rays often show lung damage in that person! Yes they don’t show symptoms they just are carriers.
So just go about your selfish business and only be concerned about yourself until you take it home to your parents or grandparents. Remember me when that happens okay?

I don't have any grandparents or parents to worry about, but I'll keep your kind offer in mind smile

I wear my mask when out in public. I know too many people who are high risk so it's easier to wear the mask out of respect for them.
Is it a pain In the ass? Yep but I rather be safe then regret it later.

I wear a mask because I am a senior with COPD, so I don't want to risk it, also I avoid crowds of any size, social distance, only go to grocery shop once every two weeks. Missing friend but we will get thru this.

Yes!! I for one actually CARE about my safety and others and don’t understand why some are actually complaining about it. I understand some have personal heath reasons and swear they can’t breathe with it on but most are just being ridiculous and comparing it to a hijab... like really? ANYWAYS ... I have 7 different colors now and all fit perfectly and I even have surgical masks. It’s literally almost becoming part of my outfit when I go out which is EXTREMELY rare and only for doctor appointments or the grocery store

Yes when I go inside a store or building. It is mandatory on public tranport in London, I have not been on the tube since February. I am alarmed that some bus drivers have stopped wearing them. When I exercise alone I don't wear one. I don't wear one in the car while driving to work (I am alone) I always have a mask or a bandana with me at all times just in case my plans change.

Actually, my usual routine is to take a mask with me, leave it in the car, walk halfway to the doors before I realize I forgot it, and then walk back and get it. So, yeah, I always wear one, but I'm still getting used to having to wear one. LJ always wears one too. My kids, however, won't unless I threaten to duct tape it to their heads. Which I do, regularly.

Yes, when I am concerned I may not be able to physically distance. Ditto what Beffer and Verbal posted.
