I prefer white. Love white wine!!
Though I am starting to enjoy the odd glass of red too!
I just love wine!!! ?
white I find red to be too heavy
All red wines for me.. In fact I could go for a nice glass right now ?
I like merlots so it is red for me.
White is my favorite, but either with dinner.
It isn't really a question of personal preference for one type of wine. If someone has taken the trouble to cook a great meal it really deserves the compliment of a matching wine.
If I don't know what someone has cooked, then I will take a fine wine as a gift, but not to be drunk on that occasion. That way you avoid the possibility of offending the cook and her sommelier!
If asked to bring something I will always enquire about the menu.
This isn't snobbery...it is a fact that some things go better with certain foods. If you don't believe that then try drinking a decent claret with sticky toffee pudding!
Or a Muscatel with beef. The same is true with beer...especially the specialist small brewery products.
Personally I like a Montrachet or a Meursault with chicken or guinea fowl, and a good claret (Margaux, St Estephe, St Julien) with red meats, and a good Sauvignon Blanc with fish.
Now champagne... that is a whole other ball game.
Red for most meals - Australia,Chile,Italy Argentina, and French in that order.
Rose - mainly for fish or white meat depending upon the sauces used.
White - Rarely.
I love white wine. My favourites are white German Rieslings
I cannot drink red wine. it gives me headaches. and I prefer my white wine sweet not dry
I enjoy both, but red is my favorite...a good zin.
I've learned to love the reds as long as they are not too dry. What I drink totally depends on my mood.
There are so many types of wine, and what I prefer at any given time depends on a lot of factors. I can enjoy a strong Shiraz from Australia just as much as a flowery St. Laurent from Austria. I adore good Riesling from the Rhineland -- there's no other wine that makes you feel like bathing in the fullness of ripe grapes like this one -- but there are so many others that I also enjoy. I love light whites with a hint of lemony acid in the summer and sweet late vintage on freezing winter days. There's nothing like the spice of Muscatel to get you into Christmas spirits, and what better choice could you have for a night of flirting than a glass of heavy, sensual Chardonnay? Bordeaux, while often overrated, has some brilliant wines from which you sip and sit in wonder while, over minutes, your tongue goes on a journey through all kinds of beautiful aromas, though those are usually ones that need to breathe for half a day or they taste like mildewy cardboard, and I hardly find the patience.
Red forever - zinfidel - the *real* zin not White zin (invented in 1972 BTW) - and if I can get it Margeaux - <Wow took my head off
I used to drink mostly white, but switched to red a couple of years ago. I still drink white wine when the mood strikes me, but I have a collection of reds at home.
Generally red, usually from South America.
If drinking wine it would be Red, white gives me a bad headache ....
