Would you like to see a "Volunteer Editor's" forum section to help with your story?

The rough plan would be you can post requests for someone to help edit your story, perhaps assist with the plot etc. It will be similar to "Ask the Author", but specifically for editing purposes.

Writers who are competent and have free time to give, could volunteer to help those in need of a leg up.

It could also be a way for someone to show their "Story Moderator" potential, for those who wish to do so.

If there are not enough volunteers, it will obviously not work. I have too much to do on site and off as it is I'm afraid.

I would love a second set of eyes on my piece (Pull your head out of the gutter). Seriously, I cannot edit but I need help making sure my tenses, semi-colins, passive voice, and possessive "S's" are in line. If my regular line editor knew what I was doing (writing) she would strangle me.

I might be able to edit story construction, content and continuity; just not grammar. Not sure if that helps? Also. I wouldn't be able to start until May when school gets out.

Hey Nobe...I wouldn't know what half of those things are...
How come there isn't a fourth choice on this poll, like "bacon and eggs?" I would have chose that...
But really, I think it's a great idea...as long as nobody tries to volunteer me for anything...

I previously put my hand up, but some sweet "friend" just told me that I would not make a competent editor, as I have only written one story and one poem. I put my hand up, as I thought I could be helpful and maybe help those who would like a woman's perspective etc.

Maybe my "friend" was right? I don't know. I still would like to help, but I would understand if you need someone more competent.

I definitely need help. I have had one offer for help (Thanks CK). I wouldn't dare post a story without some editing. My grammar is horrendous.

Sweetbitch - there would be various levels of help required, some people don't know when to use a new paragraph, haven't got a grasp of basic punctuation for example. Thanks for throwing your hat into the ring.
