Just log in more often and when you press the green button, you won't be that far away from the last time you read the thread
Once again my apologies if this is already mentioned but, more mobile based site. Mobile is the future and right now i'm on a driod and have a difficult time reading stories. I have to scroll around all the stuff to the left and right and all the drop downs in the main navigation are a mobile no-no.

Hey Mr. Gav...I don't know if this has been suggested before, but how about some sort of delay feature when somebody tries to delete their account...
I was thinking perhaps when someone hits the "delete your account" button, it prompts them 48-hours later with "Are you sure?"
I'm sure you've noticed, but there seems to be quite a few cases where someone deletes their account taking all their stories, comments, whatever with them...only to show up back within a day or two...
Sometimes I think someone deleted me from their friends list, only to find out they deleted themselves...
Btw, I did a little experimenting earlier...that new "grey line" feature seems to only indicate that you viewed a story, not that you actually read it...
Do you think you can work on that???
And how would you differentiate between a view and a read? By duration?
I think most people do actually mean to delete their account (after prompted, are you sure). If it was me, and I wanted to remove myself from the site, I would want to make sure it was done there and then, and not have to wait for a delay.

Think of it as compared to facebook where you are never really sure that your account is completely deleted. Also, for the people who need to quit because their spouse found out, a delay of a day or two could be extremely troublesome. Oh, and Mr. Barclay? It's common for different parts of a story to be posted in different categories, depending on the content of each section. But I'd be happy to move Chapter 1 to as well, so the two parts are posted in the same category. The implication is certainly present, though it's not stated outright.

hey, as far as i'm concerned, if someone throws a snit here and decides to delete their account and then, after the fact, changes their mind, that's their issue - maybe they'll think twice about doing it again - how many times have i gotten notes saying 'i'm done, bye' only to see people come back a few days later? yep, lost count. i think gav's got better things to do then find ways to second guess anyone who wants to go - i mean this is an adult site - we need to be responsible for our choices here. if i delete my account, then it's my bad luck - don't expect to see me coming back to whine over lost stories, friends lists, artwork, etc.

I think that, a thorough psych exam and a reinstatement fee should be in order...
But on topic. Would it be possible to have a better search function for stories?
Be able to search on title or tags or just everything and then maybe be able to order them on views, rating or something more. I think it would be pretty helpful with the amount of new stories added every day.
I've been thinking that I would like to be able to click on a member's name (in the sender box) when they sent requests and be taken straight to their profile page where I can choose to accept their invite or not (check a box that says 'accept' or 'delete' and which one you choose takes you back to inbox after.
I like to take a stroll through a member's profile and found myself having to do four things just to accept or not (opening up mail, checking out profile, going back to messages to accept/delete, back to messages and doing it all over again).
If that is possible Gav, that would be great & save a lot time to do other stuff!

Say for example when I add a friend I would like to get to know them a bit better/feel comfortable before I let them see my personal pics.
It seems to me that you're getting a certain amount of requests for things that are already in place...
I think what Lush really needs is an instructional video on the use of the site...complete with plenty of hot looking naked women bending over the computer screen...and maybe that sexy voice over girl doing the narration...

That's not very polite Mr Barclay! She was 100% correct, it should have been put in the right category at the beginning.
However, it's a design fail on our side.
If a moderator edits or moves a verified story to a different category, it shouldn't then be seen as unverified. I've asked Gav to see what's possible to stop this happening.

Actually, I did it that way on purpose and asked the other story verifiers to follow suit, so the authors of the stories being moved would receive notice of the pending category change. The only stories that retained an "unverified" status for more than a minute or two were those few with which we found problems that warranted further review. All the rest were re-verified straightaway in the new category.
We *could* have just moved them without telling anyone, but I know if my story were being moved, I'd appreciate knowing why and to which category. We've moved several stories and have had, as far as I know, just the one complaint. Most of the writers here want people who are interested in the subject they write about to be able to find their work.

Similar to DirtyMartini's comment, I would love to see the links on my news feed concerning friends' forum posts connect to the post, or at least the page of the post, rather than the first page of the thread they post on. It would just make it a little easier to check out posts that they make, specifically when there is an active debate in the think tank.

How about in the short term, when you get a friends request, you click on their name but open their profile page in a new tab (CTRL click or right click, open in new tab). That way you can browse their page, when your done just close it down and your right back at your open message page where you can accept or decline?

I know, we should have an export option. Export your whole profile and carry it around on a usb stick. When you feel the urge to rejoin, simply import your profile.
