I'll raise it with them asap

The problem is that all photos were put in a "Public" album rather than hidden ones going to the "Private" album and the photos then have to be moved one at a time. That's going to be a big issue here where I think a lot of people have stuff in their Hidden that they don't want visible publicly.

Really, they should go to "Private" by default and then people move the ones they want to make public.

Just a little FYI if you use your phone to get online the new storiesspace is NOT mobile friendly... You will get the mobile version with just the pretty new homepage.
I'm not happy with it and if Lush 2.0 is the same way it's not gonna make lot of people happy who use their phones .

Yeah, I told them that.
To see users accounts, you now need to be a member. I like that.

Edit: I take that back. Idk why I wasn't able to see Tam's account but clicked on GiGi's account and see it.

Desktop

Above two pics are mobile.

I do miss the vids but oh well.

Looks hella clean.

I did that but still getting the mobile version and so I lost everything I had saved in my mailbox.
It would be great if the desktop version was available to mobile users as well.since some have no access to a computer.

I am using a Samsung Tablet. Not a phone nor a desktop.

Every browser has a desktop version.

Lush doesn't make anything difficult for users to understand.

Edit.

A user must go to their own browser settings to switch into desktop mode.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. There is no other desktop version. It's a new responsive platform designed for use with phones and tablets and also PC's/laptops. If you were on a PC I don't think you would see anything different to the desktop version on your phone.

Okay ... The mailboxes are totally different if you use folders in your inbox in the old version they don't transfer ..

Right, because as two people told you on SS, there is no separate desktop site. There is a single interface that adapts to the screen size and resolution automatically. It does look different on mobile than desktop, but that's because it is mobile adaptable, not because it is a different site. The site I run, Wondercafe2, is the same and actually has about 4 different looks for handling multiple screen sizes (phone, tab, low-res desktop, high-res desktop).

I've made account and have access site through my samsung tablet.

One thing that has been an issue since the revamped mobile site was given birth was the date of birth.

It is always resets itself to the 21st when I've input 22nd.

And of course, I get autocorrected.

Other than that, you'll have to wait for pics(background/profile) to be approved.

Yeah, I've noticed the birthday thing, too. Haven't reported it yet, though. Should get it on the list. The last thing I need is to be a day older than I really am.

On the SS site, was there ever an option to post YouTube videos?

And where on the site do you add quote for the forums because I don't see an option
and I don't ever need help for such things.

That is strange.
I've used all three browsers on desktop mode and have had no issue on SS site.

Of course, when you open another window for the site, it does open as mobile view
seeing as you didn't choose the desktop version on browser.

I went over to SS to have a look at the new site, with actual content. And I noticed on a few occasions, that when I go to a page and then back, just using the browser's back button, that I get a JSON string containing the pages data instead of the rendered page itself. This happened 3 times in only a few minutes time.

The JSON data might contain some info that's not meant to be public. This happened on profile en friends pages. And I was not logged in.

Edit: it's always the friends data. If you go to one's friends page and click reload, then you're likely to get the JSON data. If you go one page back from there, you'll get the same result, but the URL changes back to that of the profile page (assuming that's where you came from). If you now reload again, you'll get the rendered profile page again.

Tested in Brave (Chromium) and Firefox, and it happened in both browsers.

Yes we had the same Youtube capability as here. I have already logged the lack of ability to embed media in the new interface. We have at least two popular threads on SS that are mostly Youtube videos and they are probably going to be silent now until this is fixed/added.

As for quoting, there is a quote option at the bottom of each post in a thread. Click it and it adds the quote to the reply box.

You can click it on more than one post, too, if you want to quote and respond to more than one person in a single post (multiquoting). That's something I have posted about as a want on here before. Not as well-implemented as in the forum software I use, but an improvement over messing with copying and pasting into quote tags like we have to do here to multiquote.

As a long-time programmer I know no matter how much one tests, a new system rollout always has bugs. Patience is always needed. Trust me, the system peeps hate bugs as much as the users.

Change is always hard. Someone kinda smart (my dad) said to always give change a little time to settle in before forming an opinion on it.

Except we aren't just talking bugs here. We are talking moving from beta to prod while still missing features (e.g. Youtube embedding, which is heavily used both here and on SS), which is the sort of thing that I as an IT manager would not have signed off on. Still, they're working quickly on some of the bigger issues and I generally like where things are going.

I've been talking to TheShyThespian and he worked through issues with support this morning and got a pic attached to a story and story loaded. I wasn't notified of his story, like usual, but did post a comment, like, add emoji without issues. So, support team seems to be resolving some issues as they arise in a timely manner. I do like what I've seen so far.

The plan was always to get the bones of the site up, which is the stories, and non critical things can be added further down the line.

Given SS was due to shut until a few weeks back, I think they've done a bloomin marvellous job. The amount of work these guys have put into it in a short space of time is nothing short of miraculous.

The stories are the backbone of the site. Both sites. I'm sure people can live with clicking on a YT link for a while, lol.

Actually, embedding is fixed now.

In general, things are much better. They are working through the teething problems fairly quickly. Still finding Login finicky but griffers told me they are on it.

In general, it is a good design and I think it is actually a good thing to have the smaller, less active site go first so hopefully the conversion here goes more smoothly.

That made me laugh.

Things look pretty cool over there. Still on a shakedown cruise, but I like it. Yeah, I'm easy. smile

In non-tech SS news, Verity wrote a frikkin play over there!

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

Excuse my stupid robot as it changed signature to quote.

I was asking as I don't see that option anywhere on settings or anywhere to be honest.

And for some unknown reason, avi doesn't stick.

Ok, now I need to wait for image to be approved.

Edit: I found out how to update forum rank and signature. It was rather easy.
Oh, and thankyou for the welcome to* SS site.

Testing The Waters.
Six stories on the front page and fifteen if you click through to the story specific page. Is that going to be the standard? Feels like a recipe for stories to regularly descend into no-view oblivion within hours of publishing if that's the planned pagination here.

While I can't answer your question for Lush/SS, the fact that the majority of users use a mobile device to browse the web these days indicates a decline in screen real estate. This means less space for stories or anything else for that matter.

Horizontally maybe, but there's nothing restricting the scroll bar. 15 probably isn't going to cause huge problems on SS, but here... Put me down for Lush should maintain 30 stories per page. All it takes is to be the unlucky sod who lands in the queue at the start of a flurry of approvals for your story to land on page 2 oblivion an hour after it premiers with the per-page cut in half.

True, though you probably don't want an extremely long page to load either, and there will also be a difference between stories below and above the 'fold'.

Maybe part of the list could be a random selection from the latest stories. That way stories that quickly get pushed out of view, or entirely off the list, would still get displayed some additional number times.
