Climate change, energy crisis, war in Ukraine, droughts, inflation, the rise of Fascism, the former POTUS being investigated for violating the Espionage Act, etc. … The Spa seems so inept.

Given that it is not back yet, they may have decided to just demolish the property instead of struggling to remove the mold and mildew.

I will, but she's not around here much, and it's probably a lot of work, so the clean-up will probably take her ages.

May I suggest reopening the Think Tank, while leaving existing threads, that have not been cleaned up yet, hidden? There's a lot going on in the world right now for which the Spa, and other parts of the Forum, seem unsuitable.

Why is The Spa 'unsuitable'? My understanding is, and has always been, that the two are the same in terms of potential content but The Spa is 'for people who prefer a harmonious and non-confrontational place, to talk about current events and any subjects which might not fit in other forums.'

And some of us prefer not have to have to spend our time here cleaning up threads when people can't be civilised. Honestly, at this point, I don't really see the value in bringing it back. We'll have a vote amongst the mods though and see if there's any will to reinstate it. I'll let you know.

Wild and crazy idea: If people really want it, set it up as a group. That makes it easier for the rest of us to pretend it doesn't exist and makes it much less visible to visitors who might be put off by the rancor. Oh, it keeps the discussions from showing up in New Posts in Forums. I'd rather it just stay gone, but if the Think Tank crowd want a place to snarl at each other, that's where I might consider putting it.

I get that, but then I didn't decide to have it cleaned in the first place. I'd say a clean-up of people with multiple accounts would probably lead to better results anyway. #my2cents

i said "as far as i know" you'd have to ask Dani for confirmation. and seriously, you're asking us to put a lot of work into a thread that's really only used by 4 or 5 people most of who only log on to lush so they can post in that specific thread.

I'm not asking that at all. I asked to reopen the Think Tank.

Anyway, as suggested by Seeker4 I opened a Think Tank group: https://www.lushstories.com/groups/think-tank The fact that groups only allow 2 levels of replies will be a big impediment for discussions I guess, but we'll see. As a group there will probably not be that much action anyway.

No, I'm not. I was asking for the Think Tank to be reopened with existing threads being hidden until they're cleaned up. That's clearly not the same as asking for the Think Tank to be reopened with all threads cleaned up.

Why don’t we just start them from scratch, but with more rules, or fewer rules, or different rules? Personally I am feeling a need to find a place to bitch about “Girls Who Code” being banned in a Pennsylvania school district.

I can't belive I'm agreeing w/ you on something.

The fact that there are only 2 levels of replies possible and that replies may not exceed 1000 characters makes Groups far from ideal for discussions, unfortunately.

Check the last page of each old thread. If it has wandered off-topic and degenerated into trolling and schoolyard name-calling, delete the thread.

I'll save you some time looking. You can delete every thread.

Or just a new Think Tank thread. There's plenty to talk about that old threads aren't needed.
