Nic you have a T1 or T3 line.
Birdie as well.

Those are breaking the cable speeds by 2 to 3 times.

Dear DB and Lush members,

My husband tells me it's not how big your download speed is that matters but how you use it.

He said his 2mb set up should serve all my needs nicely. I don't need a great big 6.8mb.

I do get frustrated at times and would like to try something bigger. Do you think I'm missing out with his paltry connection?

Any computer advice is always appreciated.

Steff, I think he's right. But it's also how fast and long you can hold the up load.
Depending on if you are downloading it or uploading. Sometimes you may have to do both.
And sometimes it just needs processing, then back to the up & down loading.

The size of you hard drive can make a difference
and a lot of ram is useful...

Of course lots of things can plug into your USB port as well
for convenience

DB,

Hard drive size and RAM has no affect on throughput.

Never mind GW that's nothing.
