so wait. what happened? did they shut us up?
Maybe it was just a hack by someone/group
This baffles me, we pay money for everything we enjoy in the world, why not Lush. We have been given a choice of amounts which many wouldn't. So before ranting about the basic $10 amd think when was the last time u spent that amount on a coffee or takeaway. I mean come on 365days for that small amount seems very fare. Hell my phone calls cost more to stay in touch with friends.
I'm in favor of you wanna play then you gotta pay. YES!!!
I can see many benefits to it being a pay site.

1. It keeps children out or it should at least.
2. Stops multiple accounts.

who knows what else?

My two cents....lol
If you need to contact your friends go to Facebook.

I see they rolled it all back. Okay, then when do we need membership?

At least give us a heads up or time line.

This isn't fair losing basic features like posting on walls online chat and chat rooms it's not on.

I agree with you mate. Bad enough losing Stevie G. Although, I'd put a comma after fair, lol.
I'm quite put off by the new regulations...So we can receive private messages, but not respond to them? That seems a bit silly to me... Also, will our currently uploaded images be removed from our profiles? And we can't upload pictures anymore? We can read stories and publish ones of our own, but not comment or respond to anything? I'm a bit confused... I'll be saddened to leave after my 90 day trial is up...that's a shame.

OH, and we can accept friend requests, but not add anyone..?(Plus, the idea of even having friends is a bit pointless now...since we can't interact?)

How are you measuring your loyalty?

On the amount of times you've cum? The basic pleasure you've taken without giving anything in return.

I'm sure you'll be missed

I was with you until your last line. That was uncalled for and you should really know better.
The only problem I see is the abrupt way it was done. Not polite nor appreciative of the members, who are after all, the reason for Lush to exist.
What shall I do with 5 or 6 stories I am writing?
so what is going on now??? Have things rolled back to the way it was for a short period? Has the membership push for most options been scrapped or revised?? I know most things weren't working this afternoon, but seem to be working now.... What the hell is going on???

I agree with you kate! losing the BASIC features to talk to friends like PM is too much. Already in the chat rooms alot of people are leaving.

Many sites allow free chat, but when it comes to messaging other members or adding friends, charge a premium for that privilege. And many charge $10 per MONTH, not an annual fee. Some will allow 1 to 3 pokes a day, or allow one response to a message sent by a premium member. I think Lush is one of the best sites around (even though I don't always agree with some of the policies) and even with the new restrictions for free members, still allows a lot more than some other sites.

I know some on here may have a hard time with even the $10 fee, but how many people who say that have a $5 Starbucks coffee every day, or eat fast food once or twice a week? Cut out that package of cookies for a week or two, cut out a few coupons to use at the grocery store, or just throw your change into a jar fro a couple of weeks. I am on a very small income, but I have managed to get a premium membership since they first offered it. If you really like the site and want it to stay around, you will find a way to manage the small $10 fee.

As for those saying they are not being allowed to black box and such now, I don't understand, because I did read it as it would stay as is for existing members for 6 months, which btw, I feel is extremely generous, as is the 90 day trial period for new people.
Ok, I know it costs money to run this site, but lets do some basic math on this. There are over 250,000 people on here now. For the sake of argument, lets say that just half of them purchase a membership at the minimum $10. That's 1.25 Million a year in membership fees. Didn't realize that it would cost that much to run a website.

can she afford to have all the loyal members who've been here for years leaving the site in droves?i guess we're going to find out now, wont we?

You know what someone once told me. " Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you".

Now think about what your saying. Really? Like most of us, you'll be back in a week.
Where can I read what the differences are between the memberships. I can't seem to find any info. I am having internet troubles which may be hampering my ability to search.
That's what all the sites do. It's just marketing. They try to get you hooked and once they have a lot of members they make you pay. Sorry not me

Wonder what they will do with those of us who paid right away ? Not that I want a refund but I'm curious. I bet some folks are going to want their money back.

Really everyone that enjoys this place should not feel bad about spending $10 a year.

There's a few guys around here who'll pay for your GOld membership if you play your cards right.

unfortunately, im not one of the guys willing to do that but, good luck.
In case people didnt notice. What they did with the roll back was give everyone a Bronze membership until July 4th. It looks like you will be able to chat and everything until then, then you will have to pay for it.
For those of you who are complaining about a measly $10, I suggested this a few months ago so you're lucky my idea was not taken onboard at the time or you might have been paying it sooner. $10? Look at all you are still going get for free or $10. It's those of us who have been donating to the site who have , up until now, been supporting your right to surf this website for free.

As far as any member who has donated previously to keep the site running asking for a refund, you gave that money of your own free will at the time.

The reason for the changes have just been explained to you so why would you try to turn this into something it's not by digging up previous changes to the site to suggest there is an ulterior motive for this change?

WHY would someone who built this site up from nothing risk losing the whole thing by asking for $10 but STILL providing the basics for what you come here for, for free.

Who/what will you be blaming if the whole site disappeared? You won't have a forum to whine on. Before you start complaining, imagine how much it's going to hurt if you have NO site where you could read erotic literature. For free. I'm just a regular member, the same as you are. I have no other reason to defend this decision than I don't want to see it disappear.

Lush has been here since 2006? and has always been free. which is probably the main reason it has 250,000 members.

wonder how many out of 250,000 are either deactivated , or not been active in over 6 mos/ 1 year's time.

But, 250,000 for a global site is hardly a lot of members. It's not even the size of a major city.

Um ,,, can i borrow ten bucks?

to answer your question there are other free sites they can go to . I think a lot of members are pissed because of the way this membership deal has been presented.

Your point is? Take 5 mins to check your stats Ajax and see how far up the ladder lush are in terms of website size. Don't forget either, it has been people like you and me that lush has wasted a lot of resources on, trying to keep us from wasting their time!

Good luck finding another free site like this one. It is still going to be a free site for basic users.

Thank you Trink.
I just want to say that I log on about every day. Yet I had no idea this was going on. I hope everyone else was apprised of this new policy or they will go along not knowing July 4th is a new day. Perhaps everyone could get a message in their inbox telling them to read the new site rules????
I for one don't have much of an issue with any of this. Nothing really changes for existing members for the next 6 months, new members get access for 90 days. If you like it, you pay $10, if you don't like it you move on or live within the limits of what access free membership gets you. The silver and gold options are nothing new, so you're looking at 20 cents a week to keep what you have now for free. Think about how much time you spend here and what the site means to you and ask yourself if thats worth a quarter a week. I'd be shocked if it wasn't. It is to me.

Thank you. I was wondering about this to. You would think there would have been some type of announcement. About it. A post in the bottom of the forums just isnt enough for a change this big.
