I'm still not getting emails about the authors I'm following. And I know that some have published because I've seen their stories on the (very short) Front Page.

Moreover, I've received ZERO notifications that any of the 53 authors I'm following have published anything. That seems…unlikely.

Thanks.

My turn for a Me Too!  I hadn't noticed how few emails I was getting, thanks for the heads up!
Do we no longer get emails about the votes and comments we receive? You only get your notifications if you're in the site - the emails worked because it told you to go look.

Think Of Me… - 1st place in the 'Dirty Talk' competition.

Down the Rabbit Hole - 3rd place in the 'Unleashed' competition.

The Intimate and Top Secret Files of Lady Agnes Jackhammer - 3rd place in the 'Punked' competition.

Samhain Shenanigans of the Satyr - 3rd place in the 'Halloweenie' competition.

I miss the emails which told me that someone had commented or whatever and the one that said my story had been approved. Being in the UK, I used to like checking my emails in the morning to see how many comments (and friend requests?) I had received 'overnight'. I suppose that some of the things that I miss might still re-appear-it would be nice if they did. As I have not yet had a story published since the move I do not know if my copyright thingy applies on here either.

Did you know that anyone can select the words of anyone's story and cut and paste them into word and then modify them. I think this is a huge bug that should be addressed very soon.

This has been brought up before, I think. Just want to clarify... do you mean you can copy a story to your own computer? I'm assuming you don't mean you can change someone else's story here.

This has actually always been possible from a phone or a tablet. Not being able to cut/paste from a PC might give a false sense of security, but in reality scraper sites and anyone wanting to plagiarise content won't be deterred I'm afraid.

Hi Sara,

This should only be available to chat moderators/moderators, which is probably why you can't access it.

I noticed this as well... on the old site I could not even copy my own stories if I just opened them up normally. I had to go into edit mode to be able to copy them. Now I can copy any story. I realize a determined person could find a way around it, but at least it deterred some people. For a supposed writing site, writers do seem to have taken the biggest hit in the name of "progress".

Apparently my story has been rejected. The message says:

    Story Rejected

Your story has been rejected by a Moderator. Check your Inbox for a message to find out why.

Too bad there's no email so I have no idea why my story has been rejected and I don't know who's the moderator to ask.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YOU CAN'T LET ANYONE COME IN BETWEEN YOU AND THE THINGS YOU'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT IN THIS LIFE, OR IT AIN'T WORTH LIVING.

1) Every time I shut down my computer, I get logged off Lush. I live alone, so no worries that someone might see Lush on my computer, so I never log off. On the old site, it never mattered, when I powered my PC back up, I was still logged in. Now I have to log back in, then refresh each lush tab I have open. It is quite annoying.

2) I was going thru my mail to mark the emails I want to keep. As I tried to open some of them to read the contents, about every 3rd one or so would just give me the wheel of death, then after about 30 seconds would just stop spinning and it would be like I had not done anything. On the 2nd attempt, the mail would open. the same thing would happen at times when I would hit the back arrow to get back to my email.

3) When I selected the star and pressed the mouse button, there was quite often either a long delay or nothing would happen. sometimes I had to press it multiple times then would get messages starred, unstarred, starred, etc. Also, if my cursor was on the outline of the star or slightly outside, it would open the email instead of marking the star. Can that be made slightly less sensitive?

It was always possible on two other sites with older software - I mean with a desktop. I just tried it again to make sure. I never experimented with Lush text. Unfortunately a lot of stuff on the Internet can be just copied - most images, for example. It could be protected, but most sites don't bother. Getty Images has a watermark over theirs, until one buys a copy from them.

No, this is a change from the old site.  You never could select text when reading a story.  Currently you can and I hope this gets fixed.

Click your ava, and then the "My Comments" link.  It's essentially the same thing.

Hmm...  What's missing?  I'm seeing my comments and likes pop up.  The only other thing I can remember from the timeline was profile posts.

The BLOCKING feature from previous Lush version did not / has not transferred over with my profile. Is Blocking something that is still a feature?

Click on your avatar at the top right of your screen. Scroll down and click Settings. Then click Privacy. Scroll to the end and you'll find Block List. Hope this helps. smile
Yeah, I see that my 'block list' transferred over, but - it isn't working - not in the chatrooms nor in the forums. I've several irritations blocked - and yet, in the forum area - I am seeing their inane commentary when they make posted comments.  Used to be, I could only see what they had typed - if they were being quoted by another member.

Same things holds when in chatrooms.  People I'd blocked going back several years - I am now seeing the comments - and they are seeing mine.

So, the list may have transferred over - but the functionality of it - is bonkers.

Yes, I understand that now. The Lush software, even the old one, was newer than other sites. It would be preferable if they did fix it.

I just read that the site is getting 250 requests per day, mostly about log-in problems. Sorry, I sent a couple myself. The problem I had was that I didn't realize that I had to fill out the "seeking" profile first. It just wasn't clear to me that it was necessary, because I already had a profile. Another member clued me in (on another site's forum) and then it worked. I did have to reset my original avatar image, however.

It was a nice feature over at the former digs.

It used to show who had the story in their reading queue. It also told you when a vote was made, and what the total number of votes was. (Well, that is with the story itself too.) I'm not even seeing the "likes" any longer. Also, as someone else mentioned, the word count for a story is nowhere to be found, only the estimated reading time. None of those are deal-breakers, but ideally they should be restored.

I can't seem to publish a story that was migrated from the old site. It was waiting to be published and I've found the story, clicked on it, edited it so that I can see the publish button, I've also added a picture (from my file system - thanks). Submitted it. A popup appears telling me the story has been submitted and the blue banner at the top says that the story is currently in draft.

When I tab onto the Published stories - it is not there. When I go back to unpublished - it is there.

I was expecting a blue banner saying it was being verified in the published stories area - but nothing there. I tried six or seven times.

Is this a bug? or is there a way to do this properly.

Hiya, there is currently an issue with stories saved as draft. They're not being submitted unfortunately. If you can copy and paste the story into s new submission, and submit immediately rather than save as a draft, that should work smile

There's nothing to fix, per se. The only people it will deter from copying are casual surfers. And they're unlikely to do so anyway.

Anyone who wants to plagiarise your story that's "protected" by a right click blocker will do so either by using a) the browser inspector to copy stuff, b) a touch device, c) a plugin to counter the blocker, d) a script to download the page.

It's a fruitless endeavour. And slows the pages down fractionally. Selecting text is quite handy, imo, because people can quote their fave lines from your story directly in their comments!

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 112 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 2 poems with the following features:

* 29 Editor's Picks, 74 Recommended Reads.
* 15 competition podium places, 10 other times in the top ten.
* 21 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

I'm not doing that - there's enough italics in that story and the current editor is stripping out all formatting. I'm not going through it all putting it all back in.

Thanks for letting me know anyway.

Could fixing that editor be top priority please. It seems it's essential.

I agree with Kistin. It's not even close to the former Timeline.

Every content that you see in your browser is already downloaded to your computer. And so, every time someone sees your pic or reads your story, it's already downloaded to their computer. That's just how the web works.

I hope this doesn't get 'fixed', because it only provided a fake sense of security. The content could always be copied. At least now it's clear that that's the case.

I assume the feature is still being worked on. I surely hope it will extend to Groups too this time, as there is someone who frequents some of the same groups as I do and whose pics really turn me off.

Anyway, as for people you have blocked seeing your comments: that was always the case (unless I misinterpret your comment). The fact that you block someone doesn't change what they can see.

That's fine for those interested in a dating site. But Lush was primarily a writers site and many if not most people here may not want to fill out "seeking" information. I know I don't.
