The story categories I had hidden are showing and people I have blocked, I can still see their posts and messages in the chat rooms and forum. 😕

I still can't figure out how to post an image anywhere

Hi Angel! To post an image is more complicated than before.

First, you have to upload the image to your personal media.

Go to your profile icon at the top RHS of the Red menu, and click it.

Select "My Media"

On the RHS, about 1/3 of the way down is a button that says "Add Media". Click that.

Select the image you want to post.

A thumbnail of the image will appear. Click "Upload"

When it has uploaded, there will be a check mark over the thumbnail.

Now go to where you want to upload it, for example in a Forum post like this. At the top of the page, you will see a little camera icon, at the right end of the icons on top of the posting window. Click on that.

It will open a pop-up menu that shows Your media first. Find and click on the image you just uploaded.

Scroll to the bottom of "Your Media" and click "Add"

A thumbnail will appear.

That's it. When you post (or send the PM), the image will be attached at the end.

Hope that helps!

da Bear

Thank you. That seems more complicated than I was thinking it was. lmao

😳 Hope I can do it.

It will only allow me to add one of my two avatars uploaded

You need to have the picture as public. Looks like yours are all private at the moment.

this isn't a bug, more of a request; is there anyway that we can get the ability to chose whether or not we are be able to see who's looked at our profile? i don't care who looks and absolutely don't want to know how often they visit. as it stands now, i don't go anywhere near my activity page.

any attention to the matter will be appreciatedsmile

I certainly hope so. It's on their list to look at. God help them when they get into the office tomorrow, lol

thanks for the swift reply! lol, i'll just continue to peek in this thread and check settings to see when it's resolved (it's safer)👀

I am NOT seeking anything other than a story site. I DO NOT want a dating site. Please allow me to turn off the seeking feature.

It took me a while (a few days) to figure out that I had to do the dating profile before I could log-in. I emailed Lush a few times, and they never told me that. Then I was surprised to see that info in the profile view. But you are right, the seeking feature should be somewhere else. I wrote mine as a sort of parody, and then I added a comment that said something like, "If you are taking this seriously, you need to get a sense of humor."

Something else I noticed: it seems like when editing (and I guess submitting) a story, the series name, if any, has to be cut and pasted into the series box from somewhere else. If you just try to type it in, the space bar doesn't work.

Also, the series name was not carried over from the previous version. It was in the three older stories from before September 6. With the one in drafts mode now, I had to "recreate" the series name. Thus the previous three can't be accessed from the series name box at the top. It was reset to "zero" as if the previous three didn't exist.

Logging in can take 20 minutes, several attempts, and turning off your device and turning it back on (whether is it a phone, tablet, laptop, or a desktop). Why can't we log in and just stay logged in?

Everyone's bio page l look at has an option to update their avatar showing. That must be a glitch that needs fixing.

I don't see that on yours or others -- special super powers you weren't aware of?

Thank you for the response Jen - It won't be a move forward if we lose those features, so good if they can be added to the list for design features. Speaking of which (I'm sure others have mentioned) - this really isn't a dating site. Seriously - please get rid of all the 'match' stuff. Bad, bad move!!

I agree... this is not a dating site. I said as much when the same feature was shown on the mobile site. or at least give a choice to opt out so those screens don't keep popping up.

Okay, the level of detail available to authors seems to be much more basic than previously. Some questions:

Are authors going to have the same access they previously had to their stories? At the moment I can't see my word counts, or the history of story edits (either by mods or myself) - the edit history is useful so I can see what changes have been made to to the version I pasted into the Lush publisher.

Also - I can't easily access all my stories from one page - my 60+ stories are on 7 pages which I have to navigate across one by one to reach the oldest. Those with more stories will obviously have a longer trek. I used to do this from one scrollable page. And on that same page were those word counts, scores etc. I could also change the order of my stories, promoting those I wished to my profile page. There was also a separate page that ordered my stories by category and by series. That option also seems to have gone.

It's not easy to identify those stories with RR and EP or those with an audio unless you directly access the story (i.e. it's not visible from the list). These stood out really clearly before. Scores and number of reads are general rather than specific. For some reason one story has dropped it's score without any additional votes.

Hiya. The data is there, but how we manage it and access it probably falls under design features rather than bugs at the moment. Great feedback though, so we will add it to the design features list.

Re the scores, this has been noted as a bug and is being looked at. Thank you 🥰

I don't see the loss of story data as a design feature. it is valuable information to a lot of authors. We had it before, and it should still be there now, not months from now as a "new feature".

First time in four years I haven't been able to log my total reads, reads/votes/comments per story, etc. My OCD is going right through the roof.

At the very least, our story lists need to be searchable via a search bar dedicated to that purpose.  As things stand, it's easier to go to Google and do a search using the "site:lushstories.com" limiter to find our own stories than it is to do on the site.  Of course, until we have access to all of our full statistics ( and not the rounded off display of selected statistics currently available ) there's not much point in checking.

The recommended profile banner size ( or cover image, or whatever it's called ) also doesn't work on my phone.  It's cut off from both sides in portrait or landscape.  The inconsistent placement of your avatar image in relation to the banner with respect to phone vs. tablet or desktop also makes it virtually impossible to design your banner to accommodate it.  You essentially have to surrender over half of the bottom third of the banner and live with blank space for whatever you do want on there to be visible on both phones and desktop.

I'm trying to be patient, because I've done massive overhauls before, and I know what a pain it is.  The fact that the author features are what got the short end of the stick baffles me, though.

The 3 is for the number of times you've paid for subscription. I've got a 3 also, 1 year bronze and 2 gold.

I joined Lush Land in April and became gold member I believe in July. This year.

I have been a paid member here as gold since gold first became an option back around 2012 or 2013, and mine shows a 3 as well. I am now platinum, but apparently, that badge is MIA.

I think they've said that it's going to take some time for everything to migrate over. I'm waiting to see if all my excess baggage catches up with me.

it seems to me that they were in quite a hurry to get the "new" site up and running and so rather than doing some proper testing and setting it up to migrate everything at once, they gave us a half a***d site. All that has accomplished is frustrating lush members (and apparently the other site's users as well), and is just making more work for the mods and the new programming team.

you have GOT to get rid of the offer of gold membership for 19.95

Can you send me the info on that? I'm not seeing that. This is what I can see...

has the sliver membership price gone up? I thought I saw something from nicola saying it was still $20. And we have never had a monthly or quarterly option. so i am guessing the chart you showed is from the swingers site.

Some threads aren't working correctly .. tried to access : new chat mods thread ..  reminder given out thread and both sign me out . .

Forums are arranged illogically. When you navigate to the thread you’re at the first post, not the latest post. Typing the last page number in the box and submitting doesn’t always work.

Is there only 1 chat room now?

Please admit this new iteration of Lush is terrible and return to the old format. It was logical and it worked.

At any given moment, there are 80, 90 or more chat rooms, which is insane. there is no limit to the number that can be in a room and I have seen as many as 195 in a single room. The names are listed in alphabetical order and there is no notification when people come or go, so short of memorizing the list and constantly scrolling up and down the list, it is extremely difficult to follow who is the room.

Are we going to get back our folders in our mailbox?  I sure hope so because I didn’t back those up and I had so many things I was saving,

I won’t lie, I’m not a fan of this new lush.  We as writers, lost so much and I don’t think we will ever get back.

Will see.

It's definitely better than yesterday - a very well done to everyone involved.

Other things I've noticed:

  • RRs and EPs: are stories going to carry these on the main stories page?
  • Can we search by votes awarded?

Other than that - it's really taking shape, I like it.

There is such a thing as too much information.😊

1. I just looked at my followers list and see that it says at the top "Whenever you upload a new photo your followers will get a notification." This is new. On the old site, the purpose of followers was STORY FOLLOWERS (though not everyone seemed to pay attention to or understand that and followed non authors like they were friends). Has this changed?

2. Also, I just noticed that even though I am on the page showing my followers, the tab is labeled "adele's friends" .

3. On both my friends list and my followers list, the names are in alphabetical order, but it lists about half of the names, then starts over with A again... not duplicates, just like 2 separate groups of names ordered alphabetically.

4. Are we going to get back the ability to show our friends in the order we want, rather than either alphabetical or whose online first, then the rest? It seems they have combined the Friends list that showed the blogs with the friends list in the settings section.

My avatar pic has not migrated. I don’t see an option to chose one.  It looks like my friends all have the same ones as previously.

Hiya, if you try uploading the picture to your media, in a public folder, you should be able to change it from there thanks.

The avatar - well, it "half-migrated" for me, in that it showed up in the menu bar for a while. But when I finally filled out that "dating profile" part and logged-in, and I had to put the old avatar picture back in. I didn't realize that the "dating" photo I used would be my new avatar and I had to quickly replace it. A strange glitch indeed.

I have to agree with Kistin, I track my comments, views, even words written in a spreadsheet and having the data in the old site and losing it now doesn't feel like a design feature.

A couple of other things I preferred on the old site, looking at the current Competition, the story list is only a partial list.  In fact all the old Comps are that way as well, only about 15 stories are listed and I know for a fact there were many more. My own entries are missing except for the one comp I made it in at the last minute.  That tells me the story list for the comp is probably the last 15 entries.  That really needs to be fixed.

I also would prefer the old "My stories" list.  This one takes up a lot of room for each story and is multiple pages instead of a long list.  We've also lost the ability to sort or download the stories.

Hopefully these things are on the to-do-list as opposed to the 'someday-list'.  Thanks,

     Brooke

Meddle Not In The Affairs of Dragons, for we are Crunchy and Good with Ketchup!

When I post a picture to the chatroom it posts as full size. When I post the same picture as a comment on a profile it has been deliberately reduced and is only about quarter size. The pictures posted to a profile were not downsized previously. I feel as though I have been downgraded in what I am able to do. I hope this issue is yet to be rectified.

ps looking forward to my mail folders also being ported to the new lush. I also hope we can copy and email to yourself as a way of saving a chat which seems to be lost currently.

So now we're being charged to change our profile name. What else will we be nickel and dimed into paying for?

Posting stories?

It's certainly not the plan to charge for changing a name. It's always been a premium perk.. Must be a setting from their other sites. Are you wanting to change yours?

And no, stories will always be free.

A quote from the FAQ regarding name changes...

"Admin fee
There is an admin fee in place for all account type changes so you will need to have your payment method to hand to complete the process."

And it was always available to everyone as far as I am aware, not just paid members.

Brooke, you could have copied my own comment on this - absolutely agree with everything you've said, plus I would like the history of my story edits back, so I can see what was changed by the Mods - or what I might have changed. Author preferences are being sidelined.

Think Of Me… - 1st place in the 'Dirty Talk' competition.

Down the Rabbit Hole - 3rd place in the 'Unleashed' competition.

The Intimate and Top Secret Files of Lady Agnes Jackhammer - 3rd place in the 'Punked' competition.

Samhain Shenanigans of the Satyr - 3rd place in the 'Halloweenie' competition.

Is there going to be a way to remove the section where it asks for your location? I tried to put in something, but it told me to be more specific and it wouldn't allow me to move on without writing anything. I'm fine with people knowing what country, or what Island I live on, but knowing my region is a bit much. Thanks for any help xoxo

I'd actually like to be able to hide my location entirely... there was no way to refuse it.

I'm still not getting emails about the authors I'm following. And I know that some have published because I've seen their stories on the (very short) Front Page.

Moreover, I've received ZERO notifications that any of the 53 authors I'm following have published anything. That seems…unlikely.

Thanks.

There is no way to find a user online. When I go to the Search magnifying glass, it's essentially asking for me to specify the KIND of person I want to look for, not a specific Lush profile.

I wanted to email the winners of the recent comp, but had to find them either among my friends, or from recent posts in the Forum – there was NO other way to find them.
