What are some other adult social networks that include erotica as well as user profiles and networks? How do those other sites compare to Lush? What are the target user bases for Lush versus the other networks?
I've never seen another site like this and I love Lush. I'd be curious what other knock-offs look like (imitation is the truest form of flattery.)
SpritesWorldofKittens.com !

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

So to further qualify my question, are there similar networks that focus on specific interests? For example: bdsm, spanking, lesbians, etc. I understand Lush might have all of that, but I am just curious if there are - for example - sites like Lush that focus entirely on bdsm, entirely on women-only, etc.

I've heard fetlife.com are good people, if it's bdsm particularly, you're interested in.
Sex stories.com aint bad. However many of writers have no clue how to put some space between paragraphs. You wind up with this long story that is difficult to read.
I LOVE Lush. Other sites are great for writing, but the social aspect of Lush is unique compared to the other ones I've looked at. We may bicker and argue, but we do get to know each other and I love that. Funny, because I was getting ready to start a similar thread "I love Lush, and why..."

I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.

This is the first and only social network I've even been on except Facebook (which is like required by law). I've been to Literotica, but never joined or got involved.

Facebook is like the front yard of your house, the lawn is mowed and green, the garden is blooming, everything looks nice and happy and tidy. Lush may have fake names and fake avatars (and sometimes fake genders, and fake relationships, and fake multiple profiles, yadayadayada), but it plumbs a fuck of a lot deeper than Facebook. Even the lies are telling. Lush is far more open and enjoyable than Facebook.

This is great! As a member of the six (on both counts) I can't claim a lot of comparison experience, but my lust for the written word tips the balance for Lush. (Ok, giving solotouch another look thanks to a recent convo)
i've never been on an another adults only networking site, so i don't have much to go off of. what i love about lush is the variety of ways that people can express themselves. whether it be from writing, replying to/creating threads, chatting, or posting pictures, everyone can show what makes them unique. not to mention the wonderful sense of community.

Say. Her. Name.

THIS =d>

Even though you'll never see my face or know my real name, where I worked yada yada yada...I am more myself here than anywhere else. I get to know people here on a deeper level and that itself is a blessing. It's as if we are all just souls, communicating without judgement and preconceived ideas. I haven't used Facebook since I found LUSH, because of all the negativity there. If I want to read about how much hate there is in the world, that's the place to go. I love it here. I feel incredibly fortunate to have made so many true friends here.

I've been on a couple others BEFORE I found Lush. Nothing compares. fetlife.com is good is you're interested in BDSM only, but even still - LUSH wins hands down.

If I was a member of several adult social networks I would have to take a long hard look in a mirror and ask myself what in the fuck am I doing with my life.
