OK Gav. I have another one for you, very small (but quite annoying)... should be easy. In the chat rooms, and I think private windows possibly, when you type the double quotation mark, it is preceded by a \. this started sometime last year after one of the upgrades. has to just be a typo somewhere in the code.`

I really don't think Gav is going to see that .. perhaps better to use the Contact Us to report that as a problem or alternatively the Help Desk or Suggestions for improvements .... smile.

Why not add a choice button on the profile page so that people can choose who they will accept emails, online messages and chat requests from?

1. Men only
2. Women only
3. Men or women
4. No one

Then everybody can choose the level of interaction that is acceptable to them.

My comment is only slightly tongue-in-cheek. It seems to me that there are far more female members who indicate in their biography that they do will not accept "friend" requests from men, than vice versa. This is a shame because it indicates either, that they do not believe men are capable of intelligent conversation, or, more seriously, that they positively dislike men. This may be the penalty that men have to pay for centuries of oppression, and also reflect the sad fact that males are more likely to be sexual abusers than females, although this is not 100% true.

It is already possible to block individual members, but might it not be possible to offered the option to block male or female members in general on the settings page - emails, messages and friend requests would then just disappear into the ether without ever reaching their intended destination. This seems to me to be kinder than to read a statement on a profile page which states in effect "men(or women) not wanted - keep away".

I'm sorry, who are you to determine what is set as policy here?

I have clearly stated, that once the opinions of MEN who frequent The MEN'S ROOM, are garnered in a poll, we will see if they actually want the room set to men only.

Until that time, it should remain open to all.

Nicola, this was meant as a request, certainly not setting a policy. And if you go back to the original request, it was Clum who originally used the words ''in the interest of equality'', followed by posts from shyllass who agreed, and then you who said absolutely. the question was then again raised recently by DPW, who is gay. he quoted my original request and we had a few back an forth posts resulting in my last post. Sorry if it seemed like anything other than what it was meant to be.

No nuisance at all. Stop playing the martyr.

Ask the question with a poll attached, in a separate thread, job done.

If transexual guys and crossdressers identify themselves as female (rare in my experience the latter do), they should sign up here as such. Then there's no issue.

We can't set up permanent rooms for anyone and everyone, it's a pareto's law approach to keep most people happy, most of the time. Anyone can set up a custom room with all the little rules they want.

I get the feeling you'd rather this issue wasn't solved and you could nitpick some more. Please don't, it's getting tiresome. You have been given solutions, please take them and quit complaining.

Ok, back again with an update.
I went in the chatroom last night for an extended period for the first time and I had a ball! To be honest, with all the features, it doesn't matter who's in there.
I would like to make a few suggestions to the features though. Like an option for "hands a condom to" and "drops his strides for" that sort of thing, lmao!
Smiles .. thats good news and thanks for sharing it. If you are going to ask for those additional actions please add for me "passes tea and chocolate biscuits to".. thanks.
To be honest I havent a clue what 'sex' I am, life is confusing enough without everyone having a heated discussion about who should be automatically banned from a room because they are this or that. Its really silly. Does it really matter if the Ladies would feel more comfortable with the reassurance they are not going to be hassled by dis-respectful so called men? I don't know of any guy who has the problem in reverse, in fact quite the opposite to be truthful so what the heck? xx
