It's been a while since our poets have had the opportunity to battle it out in a competition.

With that in mind, and April being National Poetry Month, we are doing our bit to help raise awareness and appreciation of poetry, with our new "Erotic Poetry" competition.

The aim of this competition, is to show people how much of a turn on erotic / sex poems can be.

Competition Theme

Erotic poetry is concerned with the sexually diverse and alternative aspects of the genre, rather than specifically with "love" and "romance".

All poems entered, should be of an erotic / explicit / sexually orientated nature.

We want to read sexy poetry which gets us hot and bothered.

The deadline for this competition, is 21 March, World Poetry Day.

Full details here >>

YEEEEESSSS!!!!

I'm just going to cut and paste a not-so-average-black-girl's submission, er... I mean, entry... hmm... so much innuendo.

I'll just change a word or two...

Great topic for the comp!

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Nope. Arm and Hammer, unscented

This looks like fun. Since I have 100 erotic poems here on Lush I sorta like writing these.

I'll have to up my game for this one, though.

I'll have to check again. I'm not sure I saw how long the poems should be.

I can't find that anywhere, anymore. Unscented is getting hard to find up here.

Anyhow, I may take a stab at it but no promises. My poetry leans to the romantic rather than the purely erotic as seems to be the goal in this comp, so I'm not sure how it will go.
I'm giving a go at it, but not covering bets.
I have got an idea for an entry. Will be looking forward to entering a competition for the first time. Good luck to everyone that enters may the best poem win

For the past few months I’ve been using Instagram and been using the site to post my photography . Here’s the link to my profile

Try Safeway, stinky
This might just get me to finally write an erotic poem for the site!

However long you feel they should be, to do your thoughts and feelings justice

I wonder what an 'epic' erotic poem might be like to read, and to judge.

10,000 words might still be a bit short for an epic. And are you going to write it in proper epic meter (dactylic hexameter)?
Does anyone know a word that rhymes with cock?

Don't believe everything that you read.

Yes! The Beowulf of blowjobs. The Chaucer of cum shots. The Odyssey of orgies. The Dante of 'doin' it.' The Milton of Muffdiving.

Don't believe everything that you read.

There's quite a few. rock, jock, sock, knock, block, flock, chalk (as usually pronounced here, at least), mock, mynock (Star Wars stuff)

Or was that some kind of rhetorical question?
Just a heads-up. I'm going to be rhyming vagina with angina in my "Heart Attack" poem, so don't no-one go stealing that now

does it take place in China? smile

Or ...

In a Chinatown diner in South Carolina
She showed me her vagina
It hit me like a shot of angina

This thing is writing itself!
I could almost rap that (but won't).

Then Verbal wrote: I'd never seen nothin' fina'

Me, I'm typing: And all this time I thought my 'There once was a man from Nantucket' work had a chance in the contest. ;)

You need to think outside the bucket Mr. Rumple!

Me, I typed: I suppose that means my alternative entry, another moving salute to self-gratification that begins: There once was a young man from Kent..., isn't just not outside the bucket but deep Inside the septic tank. (sigh)

Oh my, I’m so excited about this!! I don’t know if I’ll submit, but we have such a great group of sexy poetry writers here. And, I’m partial. This is going to be...shall I say it...EPIC.

Doing a happy dance...
