I finished a draft of 1900+ words last night and I am amazed at the dog shit I wrote, lol. Oh my God, editing this for it to make logical sense is going to be a pain in the focking arse.

funny thing is, i edited the story to the point of being able to put it back in, but it really had nothing to do with the story, really- i just liked it, so i left it out.

lol half way through mine i started losing the plot and had to take a step back and figure out where it was going and how it was going to get there.

Similar deal here. I've been through several end-to-end re-edits on mine now, and I'm stubbornly 150 words over after each pass. Every time I trim a few words I find a few more that make the story better. No wristwatches though, so something else will have to go. I'll get there, but maybe not by Feb. 1 as I had hoped.

I thought I couldn't get it done under 2,500 words but the second draft is under by 50. Now just need to edit more to make sure sense hasn't been left on the editing room floor. SS competition is suffering, its hard to do two competitions at once.

I've mentioned this to the dev team before. I think it gets listed by the date you first saved the draft or something. So if yours is a re-edit or something, that would explain it.
I'll nudge them again and see if anything can be done about it. Perhaps when the story list is prettied up a bit one day - it's a bit bland imo.

huh? fyi, not discounting the seriousness of the issue, and making people aware of it is never a bad thing, but this contest has nothing to do with it. might want to take note the body count in the entries (where there is a body count) includes both sexes.
