I couldn't agree more:-) It's all about the mood, the setting, the desire, the fire, everything...Sometimes it all starts long before the actual intercourse, say in a car, or restaurant etc...This sweet span of building up the mutual desire can be so mind blowing that it could even be better than what is to follow and it could take hours. Including foreplay, about an hour is right. Only about 15 minutes of that is penetrative.

I struggle with generalised anxiety disorder so if it's really short I fret that he just wanted to get it over and done with and if it goes on a long time I worry that he can't cum because I've done something wrong/ he doesn't find me attractive etc. etc.. There is no 'perfect' length of time as it is possible for a quickie to equal the satisfaction of an all-afternoon session. Plus, some people only count the penetration or oral when they specify time while others include foreplay and everything else after that first look of lustful abandon.

If we are just talking fucking, as a base line, it needs to last at least long enough for BOTH partners to climax. I would say that it should take at least 15 minutes from kissing to clean-up, with a minimum of 5 minutes of that being penetration, oral, or some kind of direct stimulation. Preferably the lengths of time would be double or triple those values but I think most people would agree that anything shorter than 15 and 5 minutes respectively would be too quick.

Personally, I like to shoot for an hour, with foreplay, but I'd be happy with 20-30 minutes as well.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
