What is the best way to attract my readers, most of my chapters are at annoying just below 10k. I know direct advertising is irritating so besides mentioning it on my feed how else can I draw people in?

Putting links to your stories in forum signatures can be a good way to get readership up. Or doing what I have done in the past when I have wanted my stories to get read or to get to the famous story mark, make a blog post about the story with a link and friends who haven't read the story may give it a go.

You may want to look at breaking your stories into smaller chapters. Once you get past the 5,000 word mark you tend to start losing readers. I have a tendency to be wordy too - I like to build up a storyline and it sometimes gets away from me. I have a lot of two and three (and more) chapter stories. But keeping it around or under 5,000 words helps.
