Forgive me if I ramble....but its a topic we all have a vested intrest in.
Love in its self is a hard concept to simply put into words. It is the comfort of being free to be yourself while still able to be confined in the fear of losing the other person that makes you so.
Its thinking of another person before yourself. Aching to take any pain or fear from them, wanting only to be able to provide a light in their darkest moments.
Its that secret smile that passes your lips whenever you think about that other person. That smile they are all to able to read and understand. The one that only they can bring to your life..

It's the most compicated emotion. It can have many layers and be applied to different kinds of relationships. If I had to simplify it then you know you are in love when the thought of never seeing that person again causes a physical pain in your chest and it be comes difficult to breath.

Infatuation is the feeling of wanting to be with someone, not really taking on the others faults and seeing only the positive in that other person.
Love is more advanced. You see the faults in that other person and you choose to accept them. You come to rely on that person to be your strenth when you have none. You strive to make that person happy and they do likewise.
You weather the storms together and get through the bad times as well as the good and yet your bond continues to get stronger.
I have been infatuated many times although never in love. This is just how I imagine it would be.

Love is different for everyone. But for myself, love makes me tingle. I believe you can share lust with a ton of different people, but being loved or loving someone is a special bond that doesnt come by as often.

Personally, there is no definition of love. It cannot be defined because there are so many varieties, kinds, styles, modes, etc. that are all lumped into love and still -- if you could label them all with limited definitions -- you would not be able to "capture" love in words, thoughts, feelings, nor actions. As soon as you think you have pinned it down, it changes. Whenever you think you "have it", it will become something unexpected. Neither philosophy nor science nor faith can tell you what love is and is not. It is a vague, organic "entity" that will usually surprise you when you least expect it. Love cannot even be defined by how it is expressed from one individual to another, not as a universal thing anyway. One person's expression of it can be another person's rejection of it. The ONLY thing I have found unchanging about it, is that when you feel it, don't question it, enjoy it for what, when, where, and how you feel it. Never ask why or how much of it there is. Also -- it's what YOU feel, not what the object of your love feels. It will never ever be "the same thing". Just be happy that you are able to feel it when you do.

Nope, I cannot disagree more! My thoughts in my relationship with the woman I LOVE, is what can I do to make her life better. BTW that includes her son. He now views me as a father figure more than his own Dad, so to say that is not right you're completely jaded.
