With sincerest apologies to Edgar Allan Poe... Annabel Lee
The Land of Lushies
It was many and many a weeks ago,
In a search engine I did see,
That a land called me that many know
By the name of Lushstories;
And in this land with many thought
I found Lushies just like me.
I was shy one, at first a quiet one,
In this land of Lush you see,
But I found a love, more than love
I and my loyal Lushies;
With a yen for writing and reading
Hidden in lustful greed.
And this was my reason, long ago,
In my kingdom of Lushies,
A wind blew up a challenge
A challenge just for me;
So that my readers all came
And bore me to a place,
To shut my eyes and open my mind
In this lucious, lavish space.
The angels, weep from Heaven
With succor just for me
Yes! This other reason (as my readers know, in the land of Lushies)
That the angels weep out loud by night,
Calling me to cease!
But my love it was stronger, by far than the love
Of those who read of me-
Of many so wise of me-
And even as sceptics hover above,
To the stalkers that won't leave me be,
Can ever truly reach my soul
Of my soul safe inside of me.
For the moon never set without some poor wretch,
Requesting a story of me.
And the stars never rise,without blinding the eyes
Of my loyal Lushies and me;
And so all the readers and haters, aside
Of my poems or prose I pen and abide,
In my Lush land so dear to me,
In my Lush land full of Lushies.
