Sprite thought that she was alright
But began to bark and bite,
In moderating she’d quip, and then sometimes she would cite
While moderately thinking, and intervening in a fight
She’d get upon her high horse, and look down from a great height,
All while she’d been drinking, and getting higher than a kite
She’d been thinking she was bringing light, and not just throwing might
She frowned unto her own self, scheming through the night
Because the Forum wasn’t empty, but neither was it quite right.
Just then the wine o’ercame her, and so she lost the sight
And realized that the drinking was making her too tight
So slept, and let time turn black to white.
