Story vanished upon trying to add cover.

I'm starting to work slowly through my stories without attached covers to rectify that. I did the first one last night, and I used the "add a cover" prompt on the story to do so, since I was on that page anyway. All seemed to be well, and I see the cover when I select the "covers" tab on my story list, but the story itself has completely vanished from my list. "Good Will", which is linked below in my signature, if that helps.

I'm used to the story still showing up in my list as pending moderation when I edit something, and having it vanish is distressing me a little, since it was very close to famous status.

So, if a moderator could make sure it's in the queue and not vanished into the ether, I'd appreciate it.

It's back in your drafts. Whenever you add or change a cover, it needs to be reapproved. Once you go into your drafts and resubmit it, it will be in the queue for review. It's helpful if you add a note to the mods that the only change made to the story is the cover.

Ah, okay. Whew! I'm used to the normal editing process where you get the prompt to publish it. It just went "poof!" when doing it from the cover prompt, and I had no idea what happened to it. I'm going to go the normal route with the rest of them to avoid the extra step of having to go to the drafts folder.

Hmmm, I didn't realize the workflow was different depending on where you edited the story.

I was under the impression that as soon as you edit a story, a warning box pops up that it will be unpublished. At that point, it goes into your Drafts folder and needs resubmitting, as OF says.

If the popup box isn't showing when you choose Add a Cover, that should probably be addressed in some way to make it clear it will be unpublished and returned to your Drafts for you to resubmit.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 125 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 3 poems with the following features:

* 30 Editor's Picks, 82 Recommended Reads.
* 16 competition podium places, 11 other times in the top ten.
* 23 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

To be fair, I was off-kilter because I was coming at the process from an unfamiliar angle. I may have missed a prompt.

Just going to do the rest of them ( however many years that takes ) the way I'm familiar with.

This has happened to me before. Not quite sure what caused it. Luckily copy/paste into the story mode from my word processor program, so I didn't lose anything. But now I add cover before anything else out of habit to avoid this, because I did lose all the formatting in the Lush editor I had done.
