Story search

I am getting some odd results using the search function on the Stories page. I was looking for all my stories involving the term "desert." With that, I put in my author name kistinspencil. All that came up was "Kimberly Has A Ball" which does not have a single mention of the word "desert."

If I take out my name, I get 147 pages worth of stories across all genres, including micros and poems posted under my name.

I just tried with five other search terms and got the same results -- Kimberly or all.

I have cleared cache and what-have-you, which made no difference.

This used to work just dandy and was very useful looking for phrases, concepts, etc.

Or is it just me?

I got the same hits as I searched for your art.

I had a go using your parameters.

It gave me two of your stories. One that could have been set in a desert but didn't mention the word and a second that had 'desert' in the title.

Thank you, hun

It's so weird -- this is all I get on my two Win/Chrome machines and nothing found at all on my Iphone/Chrome

Yeah, looks like the search is borked. I refuse to believe that I've only used the word fuck in one story.

It seems to randomly be ignoring one or more search parameters, and sometimes matching against content, or tag, or neither.

You can explicitly search for tags by changing the URL from keywords= to tag= (I swear there was a tag search option in the UI somewhere) but that still doesn't help much when you add the author name in the mix.

I'll report this and let you know what the developers say. Thanks for spotting it.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 116 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 2 poems with the following features:

* 29 Editor's Picks, 75 Recommended Reads.
* 15 competition podium places, 11 other times in the top ten.
* 21 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

Just click on any popular tag on the front page and amend the word to what you want to look for.

was this ever resolved - when I put in mff and sort by score, I get 30 pages of stories, the first story on page 1 has threesome mff as a tag and a score of 33, the first story on page 2 has the same threesome mff tag and a score of 72, jumping forward to page 15, the tag is the same and the score is 49 - it appears the search ranks by date regardless of the rank by score selection - adding additional tags to the search box doesn't seem to work either

Hiya, are you using the story search function and typing in 'mmf'? I tried this. I get 30 pages of results too, but they are sorted by score order when I click on score in the drop-down.

Would have sworn i had been using the story search function on the first page of the stories link; so have reset the search and there is now no issues with the score ranking - just need to fix the ability to search by more than one tag

Good to know it's okay, thanks.

And yeah, hopefully the tag thing is sorted at some point smile
