posting pics

So is this correct as a Silver member We can post photos in Regional rooms but not Global rooms, right???

How does one post a pic onto a friends wall direct from my PC i only get the option of posting a URL from a website or a picture already in one of my media folders I used to be able to post a pic fom a folder on my PC

Hi I'm so sorry I've just seen this!

As a Silver member, you can't access the Global rooms. This does not affect your ability to post images in the Lush Stories rooms that have images enabled.

Hi there, at the moment we can't post directly from our devices to a friends wall.

Hopefully this feature will return in the future!

But you can easily copy any url and post on friends wall.

Even easier by using the share option on tumblr.

Back on the subject of posting pics, I have pics in my Misc media folder but when i try to post them as a comment om my wall i get the pic come up but with a red X in the top RH coner and the comment box is not active, so cannot post it. I have tried posting pics from my google picture account and this seems to work but the picture only stays for a short while and then is deleted.... this really is becoming a waste of time

Hiya, I've just checked your profile page, I think either the link you are posting is expiring or it is broken.

To post a picture via a link, you have to clink the camera icon at the bottom right of the comment box, click the table for External, and paste the URL in there. You will be shown a preview of the image if it is going to work.

Thanks Harley I no i am becoming a bit of a pain wih this, I have 2 issues the first is posting from external links like mt google picture account, i do exactly as you say and het a preview of the picture all fine the post appears OK but on the following day the post has gone ??

secondly trying to post from my Misc media file the pic is there but when i select it and I am unable to post it as the comment button is not active and the pic has a small red X in the top RH corner. I have taked a screen shot to show you

Don't worry about it!

I think that the link from your google images might be set to expire after a certain amount of time then, I'm not too sure on that though.

As for the activating the comment button, simply type a space in the comment box by hitting the space bar, and that will activate it.

The x is just for if you remove that image from the post. I hope this helps, somewhat!

Posting Pictures from Media Albums

As well as the 3 media Albums Public, Misc and Private I have 2 other created albums I call Covers (for my cover pictures) and My Stuff Which contains personal items which i can invite certain friends to see

I am confused, If I want to post a picture on a friends wall as a comment i see only pictures stored in the Misc or Public albums. If i want to post a pic in a room that allows picture posting I only see pictures stored in The Private Album or my personally created album (My stuff) which is private or the Public album but not the Misc Album. This means that if we are chatting in a room and want to illustrate something with a pic from my PC, I first have to download it a media album making sure I get the right one e.g. The Private album and then post it in the chat room by which time it has lost its relevance. why is there a difference in album choices when posting on a wall or in a chat room or is it just me. Finally when will we be able to post pictures direct from files on our PC? I know I keep on about this but it is frustrating not knowing which album to download to to achieve what i want?

Thanks Harley, I understand about posting from the WWW but my confusion is why I can post from the Misc file in certain cases i.e. on a friends wall but not in the chat room ... I shall keep experimenting 😊 as always i do appreciate the time you take to reply 🍷

Both issues have now been reported to the development team. However I just tried to upload some media and that worked. Gallery is stuck on page 1.

Does anyone else use Google photos for storing pictures, I have used this to post pictures on mine and my friends walls in preference to my misc media album. But picture posted from Google Photos only seem to stay for 24 hours then they disappear with the little block symbol. Have tried using Tumblr but I find the interface a bit cluttered

You can upload pics to Tumblr and chose option to share.

Copy link and post.

You can create BDSMLR account to upload, get an automatically generated link and post to forums, walls and messages.

Remember, if you use Tumblr and the image you've chosen to use, you didn't upload and it was a repost, then eventually link will break and it will give you the generic ugly Tumblr message that, "image no longer exist" not in those words, but you get the meaning.

Best to save pics and upload to your own blog to have image live on w/out an issue.

Thank you Natalya... I dont see anything like the screenshot you showed on my Tumblr account Im sure its just me but i find the interface completly confusing, nothing like you show. Google photos worked well and was simple the only thing is the pics dont last

The reason for wanting to do this externally is that i post a large number of christmas cards to my friends wall which means my media files get huge and i cant delete them else my posts get deleted C'est la vie 😒

The screenshots are directly from the App, hold down on devices screen(mobile/iPad/Android) and you'll get the pop-up message.

If on desktop, you'll have to right click and get IMAGE URL.

I am fully aware that it's how you store pics but w/out having to upload pics to Lush Media folder.

Best option is tumblr to create side blogs under main account for certain holidays or style of pics you'd like to share. Link will only become unavailable if you delete image from blog.

You do know you can select how tumblr looks to you(and those who visit your page if it's a public blog) under EDIT APPEARANCE > EDIT THEME instead of just having the generic tumblr page we all get when we sign up.

Try changing the theme and look into creating pvt side blogs under your main account for easy storage.

Thanks Natalya .... I will keep trying that, in the meantime I have tried Flickr and that seems to work i have posted one on my wall from there and see if it stays there.... thanks for your input

You can't post pictures from your private albums on other people's walls or in the forums.

The images wouldn't be considered 'private' if they were to be posted on other people's pages.

I did answer you. The images would not be considered private if they were post-able to other people's walls.

Loading images directly from devices is still being looked at, I don't know if it'll happen.
