Membership Renewal

I believe/know that my Gold Membership is getting close to expiry.

Do I get any sort of reminder when it is about to expire please?

How do I go about renewing to make sure that there is no gap in membership please?

No doubt the answers can be found somewhere in this site but I have not yet found them.

In the previous site, you'd get reminder a wk or two but in this one, I don't know when you'll get notification through your email.

Thank you very much for this, I was thinking that I renewed last year based on a reminder but was wondering what happens now.

I have just checked and I made payment last year on April 24th so if there is a reminder sent I should get it soon.

I can confirm that I never received a reminder email or any other notification from this site's billing system that my Gold subscription was going to expire today. Welp!😢

Well, that seems to answer one of my points but I still cannot find HOW to renew.

You have to close LushStories tabs completely, then go back on your profile to have the "GOLD Upgrade Now!" banner show up on the right. I had the tab still up when mine expired and so the only thing that happened was I couldn't get to the group I moderate. All other Gold functions still worked far as I could see.

I did as you suggest but I do not have any "GOLD Upgrade Now" banner so does it only appear when the membership is about to expire maybe?

Based on the date that I paid last year, I think I have close to three weeks of membership still left at the moment.

In my badges awarded section of my profile it says GOLD.

I was a Bronze member but upgraded to Gold when Bronze membership was being fazed out-I think.

I think you either have to be on a free account or Silver membership to see it. I never saw the upgrade banner until it actually expired.

So members do not (currently) receive any form of notification that their paid membership is due to expire. Furthermore (currently) you cannot establish when your paid membership will expire. When it does expire, for gold/platinum members, the gold vertical upgrade bar will appear on your profile page, and other page, soon after.

For silver members that gold vertical upgrade bar will always be apparent. The non-notification of expiry date also applied.

I am a gold member but the renew bar came up … I clicked on it and purchased the platinum membership … it still shows gold on my profile? Am I supposed to see platinum instead?

Not yet - it still shows as gold (lifetime gold) but we are hopeful to get our platinum badges!

Honestly? This is just terrible design. A membership system should, out of the box, allow us to check our expiry date on our settings. Notifications would be more of a nice to have, but should be there. Is there a plan to remedy this, given that it's another example of functionality we lost in going to this software?

Yes its certainly on the development team to do list but sorry I do not have timescales.

Is there a place in your account where you can see when your membership expires? Apparently mine did and no notice and I don't believe it's actually time for it to expire . There could be a funky sequence in my renewing last time , the migration, an upgrade and now sadly no privileges. Though earlier today I certainly had such.

We hope this will be included in the new profile roll out which we anticipate soon. You purchased 6 months gold 10th February which expired yesterday.

Actually i purchased an upgrade to Gold shortly after the migration ( now known in my mind as the beginning of the end) . Hoping that something that used to be included on the profile gets put back seems a bit late and short sighted. Now i have to worry about what else is gonna change and cost more when you roll out new profiles? Maybe it's time to just walk away.

Year I believe-it cost me £40.59 on 22nd April.

If that was a quarter is annual Gold more than £150?

Would be a shame as the loss of being able to chat one-to-one to non-members makes the site less enjoyable to me anyway.

No, that sounds about right given conversion rates.
Have you tried a helpdesk ticket?

That may be quicker than waiting for an Admin to hopefully see this tread

Thank you for your advice/interest. I will raise a ticket because I do not want to start losing further 'privileges' if the system believes that I am NOT a Gold member.

Once your current membership expires, you will see a banner to upgrade on the homepage
