Is there a way to determine when my membership expires? Perhaps there could be a field added to our profile, or Settings?

Thanks for your reply, John, but I cannot understand the reasoning behind management's decision...
Agreed. It would hardly take a major effort to have renewal date stored in a field and displayed on the relevant section of the Settings.
A woman goes shopping in the local mall. But what the heck is she shopping for in that outfit? My Festive Flash comp entry.

I have sent you a PM advising you when your annual gold subscription expires.
Would it be possible for you to tell me when my silver expires? Please and thank you.

There is not. However, you should receive a site message 7 days before your current subscription expires to inform you of that pending event. I have sent you a PM advising you when your annual gold subscription expires.
I did not receive any notification of my subscription expiring 7 days prior. It expired yesterday. The only indication I was when I saw all my Profile Views named as 'Someone'.
Could you please push this issue further up the corporate tree, as it affects a LOT of people. Quite a few of my friends have been caught unawares, too.

Very true, but when? Added to the long list of things, but somewhere at the bottom w/ the less important things.
I put a ticket in to find out when my date was and they sent it back but the way I see it I’m a paying member and if they want me to stay it should be up to them to notify me at least seven days prior to the expiration date I worked hard to keep my profile and my media the way I like it and I don’t wanna lose it.

Expiration should not cause you to lose anything other than your Silver or Gold status and privileges. If results in actual loss of anything, then I have a problem with that. But I do not think it does, having expired at least once myself in the past year.

As Seeker4 correctly says you do not 'lose' anything. It is simply the case that the the features/options you had at your specific subscription level will be withdrawn and you effectively become a 'free' member. A pure guess but I would say over 50% of the subscriptions the members now have are recurring and so they do not have to concern themselves with expiration dates and becoming a 'free' member until they re-subscribe. However, I understand not everyone wants recurring payments.
I will ask the development team to investigate why the 7 day expiration notice is not going out.

As of today, it still is not. I expired with no notice.
Also, the lists of membership perks still do not mention that you need to be a member to start threads (vs. posting in an existing thread) and use Groups. It should in the interests of transparency. I found that I expired when I tried to enter the only group that I am a member of.

I will refer this again to the development team. Thank you.

A follow up question-- if a paid member at Silver or Gold is at their maximum media allotment (Silver= 250 photos & videos/Gold= 1k photos & videos) and their membership expires will they retain their media?

That 'feature' has in fact been withdrawn and that is because the site is focused on recurring subscriptions.

Seriously? Some of us do, in fact, see value in being able to look at our situation and decide year over year.
Also, what's the point of a recurring gold when two years at the gold rate gets you platinum, which is lifetime?
So the question then becomes, if I go recurring, do I get a reminder before the annual charge goes through so I can decide whether I still want it or not?

No you do not and that is because you can cancel a recurring subscription at any time so that it will not automatically renew on the expiration date.
