Interactions listing issue.

A new one.

Interactions are listed 'most recent first', so the most recent 15 (or whatever the number is) interactions will be presented on the first page. But now within each page, the interactions are presented in the opposite order. So I have most recent at the bottom of page one instead of the top. The order of presentation is now 15th down to 1st on page one, 30th down to 16th on page two, etc.

This little gem of programming is true for page three, at least. I can't say what happens on subsequent pages because when you throw your hands into the air in exasperation it makes it hard to use the keyboard.

Well I checked mine and they are in the correct order. I have reported this and will advise back in due course.

It's ok w/ me as well.

It's changed for me now, but things from the last 24 hours are at the bottom of page 1 instead of the top.

Just curious... why cant you type 'with' instead of w/ ... its only 2 extra key strokes for goodness sake! 😎

The response from the development team:

'I think comment replies can throw it off - the original comment might be older than the comment, but it's shown at the top because the comment is new.  Interactions is being redeveloped with the new feeds'.

It's been doing this for ages for me. Every time a new comment is added to a story, the order of entries in the first page or two of Interactions flips. It's bizarre.

I reported this many months ago. The development response was the same then.

Interactions. Where do I start? They and notifications are horribly broken, especially when compared to nearly decade-old software I run my site on.

If I get a notification for a Like and click/tap on it to see what post was Liked, it either takes me to the beginning of the thread or to a non-existent page past the end of the thread, not the post that was liked.

If I go to Interactions to try to find out that way, clicking on the Like takes me to the top of the thread as well.

So it is basically impossible, short of using deductive reasoning, to see exactly which post was liked.

Replies have similar issues IIRC.

All of this works properly out of box with off-the-rack forum software (I use Xenforo) so why is it such a PITA here?

Bits of the site are still using v1 coding, whereas most uses v2. The interaction between them causes issues, apparently. I'm not an IT person, so that's as good as I got. Interactions are part of the newsfeed that is being worked on. It's a huge job and has been ongoing for a while and I'm not sure yet when it will be completed, but until then we have what we have.

I think mine has been hitting the bottle hard today trying to catch up. Top sort, bottom sort, and the middle ones just missing.
