I think it is related to a new ad network we are trialling, who are injecting a script into the chat room setup. It seems there's an unexpected conflict.
Gav has been made aware. I expect it to be back working properly, within the next 12 hours.
Apologies.

It has nothing to do with privacy.
Their ad code has to load, as does the site code. There must be a conflict of sorts. Gav is looking into it.

Running 3rd party code in one's site is definitely a privacy matter. I can see cookies being set for a domain other than lushstories.com. This makes it possible for them to track me over different sites that use the same ad network. Also, my locale is being passed to that domain. I imagine that most users prefer not to be tracked or have any details about them being sent to some shady (the keywords are pretty revealing) ad network.
It's potentially also a security issue (it's what cross-site scripting attacks are based on), but abusing that would quickly ruin their business model.

I think this is one for Gav to answer.
All ad networks use cookies. If you visit any commercial site with ads, you will have cookies served up.
I'd prefer you discuss things like this with Gav directly, and in private, rather than unduly cause concern to our members.

Is this your way of saying you don't mind doing business with an ad network that matches banners to keywords like chloroform, rapeable, murder or peadophilia? Or do you not believe me when I say that including 3rd party scripts is a security/privacy issue?![]()
I surely hope it's the latter.

I have asked our ad agency if we can supply a blacklist of words to be excluded from their scripts. I suggest these are a generic set of phrases they use for all adult publisher sites.
These ad agency (not advertiser) scripts are sandboxed inside their own document. The same origin policy enforced by your browser limits access to other documents not originating from the same domain (www.lushstories.com). So unless you're running some older versions of IE (if so, there are more pressing concerns to deal with) then your lush session is secure.
Like most ad agencies they will use tracking cookies to display relevant ads when they appear on other partner sites. Something Google and AdWords has perfected.

I just wanted to put it out there that in regards to chat rooms, the number of people listed is not matching with the "Who's Online" list.
And yes, I have made sure that it is not effected by any people possibly on my block list.
Example:
A Pic Room says there are 22 people in it. the "Who's Online" only has 18 names listed. I go in the room, and I count 22 people. not including myself. With no one on my block list.
Just a tad annoying. Nothing big.
Thanks!

I noticed that early today. and I also realized that the members you do not see in the rooms are those of us that log in invisible... nothing to do with those that blocked you or vice-versa....
I hope it is not something permanent... as there are some individuals that i rather keep away from ...
