Audio Stories

In Lush's previous incarnation authors were able to simply upload audio stories to the site, but currently there's no way to do so. Instead, authors have to create an outside download/streaming link for their audio, post it in the 'Self-Promotion and Marketing' forum and then post a link to that post along with the text version of their story.

People love audio stories and this is a ridiculously clunky way to bring them to Lush. One of the admins (Thanks, Clydia) has told me that the technical crew is fairly small and is working on other upgrades to the site. Nevertheless I urge all audio creators and fans of audio stories to contact the site and request that this be made a priority.

I never did one but thought about it. And I enjoyed some that I listened to. Given the technical nature of the project, though, and the fact that there are more basic functions of the site like notifications that are still buggy, not surprised that it is not a priority.

I’ve mentioned wanting the return of audios. I loved adding audios to my shorter stories, and readers told me they enjoyed them. I think it’s like Mr Ape says above… just bigger priorities right now. And it may be more difficult to accomplish with the new system, not sure. The old way wasn’t merely a push of a button. I had to email someone my audio clip then someone had to attach it. And there were system limitations as far as size of audio clip. Some audios would hang at a certain minute mark, too.

While we appreciate people's interest in this being an option again, we've already raised this again with the team, so there's no need to email. Most of the mods are authors and we want this returned too. As Kimmi says, there are some technical limitations with it, but if we get something workable, we'll promote it.

However, due to the manual nature at present, if you've emailed your audio story off, it won't have been assigned yet because the dev team are on holiday till next week.
