I long for the day when this isn't huge news but I'm happy about it.
If 1 gay person (male or female) realizes who they are isn't a bad thing because she came out then it's a step in the right direction.
I think that any person who makes an impassioned plea for equality, between all women and men, is to be applauded.... no matter what their status.. celebrity or not... BUT ..
I do not differentiate between an openly active lesbian and a closet lesbian ... I regard both with the same affection and compassion..
what worries me about these sort of declarations is my cynical side... why? and why now? ..
did she know some magazine was going to publish an expose? .... that is .. was it forced on her? ... if it was, she rises in my estimation ...for stopping some grubby publisher raking in cash by exposure ...
if however she did it for the publicity it brought.. she sinks ....
I always thought she came out years ago?
Clearly I was wrong and was very impressed in the way she did it !
I envy her, I envy those who came out and told the world the real them.
tsk, In my country, Gay (males) are widely accepted by the society , Gay(famale) or lesbians are still not very much welcome.
anyway, the line "In the eyes of God and in the eyes of a human, you are a sinner if you let yourself to be turned to be a gay or lesbian." is a trash. God doesn't judge you, it's the people who's making you feel worst.
