Notification for tumblr bloggers

Hi all,
In case you haven't heard yet, tumblr has come down with a new policy that as of Dec 17th. they will no longer be allowing adult content on their site. Which means that anyone with adult pictures, gifs, etc. will have their site deleted. People with story sites like me can keep the written text (so far) but any pics will cause it to be deleted.
I am more than a little upset by this notice as I have two sites on tumblr - one gallery site and one with stories on it. Both of these sites are going to be subject to deletion and there are stories there that are too hot for Lush. So if tumblr goes through with this crazy idea those stories will disappear.
tumblr has always been a place where we could share our favorite stories pics and adult entertainment. But it looks like tumblr is going to Sesame Street. I know a lot of you have some wonderful, beautiful sites on tumblr. It is a shame that they chose to eliminate this MAJOR chunk of their customer base.

There is an announcement today on tumblr about this. While it does not say blogs with nsfw content will be deleted, there have already been some blogs have been deleted without warning. From what I have seen these have been mostly blogs with bdsm content using specific tags regarding ddlg, (which we know has nothing to do with that particular subject). That is what brought about these changes. The discovery of unlawful content.

Tumblr have an automated censorship program in place and have already flagged posts it has deemed to be inappropriate. You can either delete those or submit them for review. Tumblr are not fully enforcing these changes until 17 December so there is plenty of time to review your blog.

I wouldn’t panic yet but I wouldn’t sit back and do nothing either. My advice if you want it would be purging your blogs of adult content. My 2 cents

This will likely reduce the number of users in the picture chat rooms and instances of wall-postings since I’m confident that the overwhelming majority of people here get their pics and gifs from Tumblr.

I guess my page/blog with be a vanilla art and photography one now. It’s going to take me a long time to purge it but I’d rather do that than abandon some of the friends I’ve met on there.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

IMO, I think this presents an opportunity for an entrepreneur to develop a Tumblr like site to host only adult content. I guess we will wait and see. But right now I know it will be much more difficult to do pic and gif comment posts on lush, as well.

I would like to see someone step-up and create something to fill the adult-void that Tumblr is leaving behind but I’m not holding my breath. The convinence and ease-of-use that they developed isn’t going to be something so easily imitated. However, I’m hopeful that perhaps such a thing is already out there and I just need to find it.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

Well it looks like PornHub may be buying Tumblr so maybe things will turn around after all.
Although there’s still plenty of sex and nudity to be found on there as it is.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

Where has everyone gone who was on tumblr? I’ve been working on transferring my tumblr posts to bdsmlr. I also like the looks of blogr.xxx but haven’t completely learned its site architecture. Graphics are good there, though.
