I live to work out! I lift, jog, do jiu jitsu, box, kick box, crossfit. It's a way of life for me.
I exercise about 10 minutes each day (mostly squats, push-ups, hypopressive abs, and static exercises) all year long, and run about 5km (about 3 miles) almost everyday (if the weather allows) from March to November. Like someone said above, it's more akin to brushing my teeth than something I 'like to do'. I just do it because I feel better overall if I keep the routine going.
Oh yes, I love it. I have been doing yoga since I was 17, I swim and run also. I never used to run so much, that is my husband's favourite, so he encourages me. 😘
This is my collection of muses and stories. Stories of note include:
Little Bird - A true story of submission and dominance set in Paris between an older couple and their younger lover.
Le Weekend - Six lives intertwined during one weekend create events that change their lives forever.
Training with weights has been a part of me for so long that it's just as natural for me as breathing. It is very enjoyable when you do it right. I start very light and move up in weight, until I get heavy enough to train properly, neither too light nor too heavy.
I have an olympic set of weights with "York" iron plates at home and usually train three times a week.
This has an effect on my stories. Some of my characters are olympic weightlifters or former weightlifters. I've never seen any other writer include an olympic weightlifter in a story, and certainly not a weightlifter from mid-20th century.
In one of my current stories, I have a glamorous actress who mentions she had sex with this guy when he was in London for the 1948 Games. This is him four years later...
I mainly do weights and other strength/resistance exercises. I dread it before I start and love it before I'm done. But it's hard work, so who would do it without the benefits? I've been doing it consistently for about 5 years, and in my 50s I'm in better shape than I've ever been (see my profile pic). My wife totally objectifies me now and it's awesome.
I must say I do like it. the gym is really close.
the trick I use to like it - eliptical 10 mins max.
just 3 nautilus machines for my arms and shoulder area. I like the way they feel after wkout.
that little routine done 3 times takes like 50 mins. then I go swim.
I'm also in a morning walking group. 3.7 miles for me
Still fucking hate it.
