It is a perpetual problem in my world (I am an IT manager) that there is no global standard for AC/DC converters like there is for the USB bricks for charging phones (I still have an old Rim Blackberry brick that works just fine on current devices, just can't fast charge). USB-C might fix that, since some newer laptops and similar devices are able to charge via the USB-C port but we aren't there yet. So, yeah, I hear ya. Just wish the engineers who design this stuff would.

The power problem, if the cable is not to blame, may be due to the plug.
Now, I have an Amazon Kindle Fire first edition or first generation, model d01400, and it is tremendously stubborn to charge. The Amazon wall plug-in adapter that I have was only able to get it to 14 percent from a dead battery state. From E-Bay, I guess I will have to get the exact charger that goes with that tablet. My second generation Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is much more flexible. It can be charged from just about any cable, cord, and power bank that I have. My guess is that all Amazon tablets that came after the first model are much easier to charge.
