Epilators?

I've used a Phillips epilator for years but only on my armpits and legs. First time I used it, I would say it was "uncomfortable" rather than "painful". After each use the regrowth became finer and using the epilator became much less uncomfortable each time. I have patches on my legs that don't regrow now. I use the epilator every 6 or 7 weeks. There is a short time you have to wait for the regrowth to become long enough to redo. I use that time to shave a couple of times before I use the epilator again because it gives me the exfoliation I lose when epilating. Speaking of exfoliation you MUST use some type of exfoliation a couple of times per week or you will get ingrown hairs because the new growth is softer.
I have tried the Philips and the Braun and I have given both away. I was unhappy with the result. Bumps and uncomfortable approaching painful as they ripped the hair out. I also did not want to wait for a day or so for the skin to settle down. I also had a few ingrown hairs. Yes the result gave me a few weeks before I needed to trim again. Unfortunately you had to wait for the hair to be long enough for them to be able to grab the hair again. They were not for me. I use a depilatory cream for the major work and a razor for touch ups. Always a new blade and NEVER as disposable razor. No bumps or gravel rash. Regrowth is a fact or life and you have to accept it. My girlfriend and I both help each other in the depilatory process and we have no problems in the procedures we have adopted. We can maintain it in a beautifully smooth condition. Showering and shaving are a fact of life and work well together. I keep a small patch and that is a little trickier than being totally bare.
I don't have a good experience with epilator on the first time I've used it. But when time goes by, I become comfortable using it.
I used an epilator for a while, until I had laser. I thought it worked pretty well, but certainly laser works far better, and is pretty much permanent.
