I have heard that having a tattoo can be dangerous because the ink if not used correctly can cause blood poisoning. I actually think this has happened in many cases.
For me I don't like tattoos, but everyone is different. what are your views?

I detest them.
I refer to it as Body Graffiti.
A decision made in a moment lasts for life.
How many women have regretted the way they lost their virginity after a moments thought. Tattoo's are the same - a decision made in a moment lasts for life.

They can be lovely - or ugly - but I would grow to love them on my lover because they are part of her. Really it's the same for everything: the things you find cute to start with become adorable and the flaws and imperfections you gradually find precious. Because you love the person as a whole, not as a sum of parts.

I am 80% covered and still want more, I like them on women as well.
Re the ink, it's not the ink it's who is doing the tattoo, are they following all the regulations and do they know what they are doing. Check out there other work, and ask around.
And remember people with tattoos don't give a shit about people not having tattoos ?, I just don't like bad tattoos or the people who think get their hands neck an face tattooed and none on there arms etc.

Love tattoos, but they have to mean something.

I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.

Tattoos should be well thought out before hand.....shy away from trends ( Chinese characters, tribal arm bands or a mustache on their pointer finger? yeah trends=bad) be original and true to who you are. If you follow those tattoo rules you will be addicted to tattoos after your first one. I love my tattoos each one is a story....a meaningful part of my life that I wouldn't ever want to forget. I also find them very sexy (again when done right) on other people. On the other side of that i also know people that have made some very bad tattoo choices....even that isn't forever tho its fairly easy to cover up or remove a tattoo these days.

Not a fan for the most part, but I have seen a few I like. I have one on my left butt cheek that I need to get removed or covered...it is my ex's name in her handwriting. My new wife says it doesn't bother her, but I think it does, so I will get rid of it.

Yeah, I think you are right. But since it is here, I find tattoos not only hot but very beautiful, and revealing of the inner world of whoever wears it. I love when they peek out from under a dress or skirt, just hinting at what lay beneath. It's like a secret they are half-hiding, half-showing.

I also love when a woman you have always thought of as demure and decorous has the edges of a tattoo peeking out - it reflects a inner wildness that only comes out for the right person, under the right circumstances.

Hypothetically speaking, of course. smile

I can't say I hate tattoos because "hate" is a strong word. I don't think I hate anything, to be honest. Though I can honestly say that I've never felt the need to have ink permanently embedded into my skin.

Here's a tip: If you want to look super-cool, invest in gold jewellery. Not only does it give you a air of class and affluence, it's also a pretty good investment. Even though the price of gold fluctuates, due to inflation you will never lose money on gold in the long-run.

10 years ago, I bought £500 worth of gold jewellery. I had it valued recently and was told it's now worth £1200. A £700 pound profit over 10 years isn't a great deal of money, but it's more than you'll get for a tattoo. In fact, if you went into a pawnbrokers and ask how much your tattoo's worth, the only thing you'll be leaving with is kick up the arse.

I dont like them at all. Hate is a strong word but if a guy has too many then I wont date him at all. Kind of like if he is a smoker. I think the human body can be beautiful without all the graffiti.

They aren't for every body & that's fine. I personally like them. I started getting mine at 36. Just make sure you look into all the places around. Look at their art, their facility, as other people who have had tats done & look at them. I, luckily, have a great artist & he takes care of his establishment. He has also been doing it for a long time. As I say, Think before you Ink & you won't regret them.

Always get your tattoos at a licensed reputable tattoo parlor/clinic. They should have a recent inspection certificate on the wall, a business license and occupancy permit. I suggest doing some research first, getting recommendations and checking out the place and the artists.

I have a few tattoos and enjoy them very much.

I not only hate them, I detest them, despise them and refuse to look at them. They creepily disgust me. They can fuck up a beautiful body. Enough said?

I'm not going to get a tattoo but if someone does have them I'd rather them be small and sophisticated and not a full body one. I just picture when they are old and living in a retirement home with "saggy" skin and all of their tattoos and/or jokes not be understood or resented.

There must be a few with second thoughts - I have seen two parlours now that advertise they REMOVE tatts.

I love them both on men and women but I don't like them on the face or the hands for some reason and I really don't like them on women's breasts. There is a fine line between tattoo classiness and cheapness and many cross it but don't realise. I have tattoos but not a lot and got them to express myself and my inner feelings for something precious to me, I am a quiet girl (some may find that hard to believe on here) but underneath there are a million passions unable to get out for one reason or another and the tattoos I have are a reflection of my inner self, the self that I can't show to the world because I know the world would simply not understand me.

I completely agree Buz. I have 6 an 5 were done by the same artist. Once you find the "one" you're golden. Tattoo's are like anything else, to each their own. No judgement should be made about those who like body art, if its not your thing that's fine too. Personally, I love them and mine all have meaning to me.

Follow up: Last Thursday I had the tattoo on my left butt cheek laser removed. The process itself was not painful, but the aftermath is like a bad sunburn. A sunburn on your backside presents some challenges, sitting, toileting, etc. I will never do this again because it was my one and only tattoo and now it is gone. No repeat tats for me.

They used to be a huge detriment to aspiring models, and I would always get work when other models who had tats didn't, because I am free of the garish, ugly things. I was deeply disappointed in my kid sister when she got a huge tattoo on the side of her rib-cage. And I think she's sorry now that she got that one, although she has gotten smaller, more meaningful tats since that horrible first one. If a girl is beautiful to begin with, why destroy that beauty with cheap-looking camouflage?

I don't especially like them on guys either!

Oh, how disappointing. Does that mean I should remove my 'Bethany' tattoo off my left butt cheek and my 'Frasier' tattoo of my right butt cheek?
