This is my first time going on a Cruise. First Vacation since my Divorce. I would like to get any feedback tips and or suggestions from those that have gone on a cruise or cruises. I am looking to meet new people and have a great time. This will be an adventure. I would like to think that I might find someone to have an interesting time with but I am not expecting too. What have your experiences been like? What can or should I expect?

My cruises have all been family vacations, not as a single, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be.
There are usually plenty of social activities going on, so focus on those rather than on wasting your money in the casinos and such (if you're a non-smoker, you'll spare your lungs, too, since the casinos are usually smoking areas).
Look at your port stops well ahead of time and find some tours (hint: check tourism websites for those ports, sometimes shore tours booked with local company are cheaper than those booked through the cruise line) that interest you so you're not wasting time onboard planning your shore time. Of course, if you're just going to shop or hit the beach on shore, there may not be much planning to do but taking some tours of specific interest to you might bring you into contact with people who share the interests.
The cruise lines (at least Carnival, who I use) generally are pretty good at pampering you and making sure your basic needs are met, so let them do their job and focus on your own enjoyment.
Go on a Windjammer Cruise. They're much more personal and attract a more adventurous class of people than family cruise lines do.
Cruises are the best.... Lots to do and they al have night clubs and singles events.... Hope you have a great time
What can you expect at the end of the cruise? A very large and expensive bill, particularly if you were seeking " friendship" from women.
