Maybe seven or eight months. I was on a destroyer out of Norfolk, VA and we'd go out to sea for months at time. Norfolk itself was a tough place for a young sailor to be stationed. In the Tide Water area there were several other military bases. In the eighties young men out number women about 19 to 1.
Needless to say I looked forward to getting underway and visiting new destinations with friendly locals. Every cliche' about sailors on leave was true. My friends and I made up for a lot of lost time quickly.

I am a contractor, so the other squaddies are 60 year old men. I am not tempted by them.
Am I former Marine, so no sex during boot camp, which was 3 months. But frankly, I never thought about it during boot camp because it was stress all the time and only guys were there. Even on my 10 day leave after boot camp, fucking was still not on my mind. But at infantry school, I went loose and I could literally say I was fuck-crazy.
