As you can tell from the title, I am into Sci-Fi, so I am expressing my inner geek a bit by this question, but so be it
I was watching a show on TV tonight, Humans, that had androids (called synth) that were commonly used not only to help with every day chores, but used for adult purposes. It made me wonder, if androids really did exist and were advanced enough to where they started to look and act somewhat human, would you consider using them as a sexual toy no different than say a vibrator or would the fact they they look and act some-what human cause you pause? Would you be willing to have sex with an android?
Depends I guess. If they'd be sentient, then I guess it would be the same as with people: only with their consent. Otherwise they would/could be very advanced sex toys indeed.

I watch humans also. If they looked like Mia I would be all over it. But if they were like the hard ass one of the professor then NFW. On the other hand the cost of them would be prohibitive and only the ultra wealthy would get them. So once again the rich get is all, including the best and most advanced robot pussy.
I've just published chapter seven of Undercovers Detective. I would love your feedback on this story. I'm planning on ten chapters at least. If you haven't read one yet, I've included links. I hope you like them.
I too watch Humans and whilst the idea of having sex with a synth/android doesn't sound too bad, the actual experience of it I feel would be the same as Jill's experience which was rather boringly efficient rather than the spontaneous lust actual Humans have.
(I also want to add my thoughts on what a fantastic actress Gemma Chan is, she's played the role very well!)

You should watch the original Swedish show that Humans is based on. It is called Äkta människor. I have only watched the first 2 episodes of Humans, but I think Äkta explores the ethical and moral issues of having sex with a robot much more than the English show.

I didn't realize it was based on a Swedish show. I will have to see if I can't find it anywhere online then. I would like to see them explore the ethical and moral issues a bit more than they have been doing so ar in "Humans".

It was first shown a few years ago, so I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere
Quote by NaughtyKat why not,I already want to buy a sex machine one day at least with a robot I can tell him what to do.
I had a conversation with my girlfriend about the same topic in this thread after the show. My thoughts were it was no different than any sex toy and could even let people experience more of their fantasy in a safer way or at least let them take some of their fantasies for a test drive to see if they think they could really handle things such as threesomes or bisexuality with real people.
She was on the fence about it all. One of the things you said "I can tell him what to do" made me remember one of her question thoughts and questions: if they were close enough to humans to sometimes be confused with them, how would that impact human to human relationships. After all, a robot could be anything you want, any personality, like what you like, never get into arguments with you - almost like the perfect relationship. So she wondered if this type of technology ever came to fruition, would people gravitate to relationships with synthetic humans and away from the real thing.
Me I don't think I would want a relationship where my partner agreed with me about everything. I would need that little bit of difference of opinion to make it feel real. I guess you could always program that too.
But I do agree, they would make one great sex toy. : )
I'll pass thanks... even with a hooker there is STILL human interaction... with an android it would be totally meaningless. The way I see it, if all I want is an orgasm, I've got a right hand, memories, cyber and internet porn.
Now... as to your question... I'm honestly not sure if I would fuck an android if given the opportunity. On one level... it's not all that different from using a vibrator. On another... it's quite different. You're having sex with something that looks like a person. But then... if it can take care of my sexual needs when my spouse can't... it might be fun.

If the android is sentient and independent, then it would be no different than being with a human. You have to seduce them, get consent, etc.
If they are sentient but not fully independent, e.g. governed by something like Asimov's Three Laws which enforces obedience to humans, then the ethical quandaries arise. Is it okay to order a robot who has no choice to obey to have sex with you even it might not be enjoyable for them? Technically, it could be considered consensual since the robot can't actually refuse and would likely find disobeying a human more distasteful than any sex act you force on them. OTOH, is it any different from a mind-controlled human, something that isn't allowed in our stories precisely because it removes the option of free consent?
If they are simply programmed machines with no semblance of independent sentience then they are, as suggested, nothing but fancy sex toys.
